Abstract: With its unique tourist resources,convenient transportation and location,as well as the government support,Xiangxi Prefecture has a favorable condition to promote tourism industry so as to alleviate poverty and develop economy.In doing this,the followings should be taken into consideration:firstly,emancipate the mind and unify understanding to strengthen to leading role of the government;secondly,put the tourism industry in a proper position and give prominence to poverty alleviation and economic development;thirdly,maintain the quality of tourism industry and add cultural element to it;and fourthly,try to raise more money to promote the tourism industry so as to alleviate poverty and develop economy.
