In the camp of critical modernity,the theory of ecological criticism is unique and has important theoretical value and practical significance.Take for example,the three aspects of James O'connor's "eco-diagnosis" of modernity,the "ecological critique" to the traditional historical materialism and the "ecology renewal" of traditional socialism are discussed in this paper,revealing ecology purport of modernity.
