小区性社会教育及其启示

摘    要:到目前为止,关于西藏教育史的主流观点将西藏教育的历史限制在体制性教育的狭隘领域内,丧失了历史人类学所追求的他者的立场,使得西藏教育史成为庸俗进化论的注解。文章认为,在教育史上还存在另一种为学者所忽视的小区性社会教育;这种教育使体制性教育得以成立;通过援引卡尔.波拉尼的实质性经济学的基本概念,文章认为小区性社会教育的特点在于它的社会和文化嵌刻性。文章从一个藏族小区的现代教育发展历程着手,考察小区性社会教育的主要内容,在于它承载着藏文化的基本信息;同时指出,现代性学校教育在西藏的扩展是和西藏传统的体制性教育——寺院教育并存并且动态互动、互补的;寺院教育作为现代学校教育的他者,其优越性至今未被超越。然而二者都需要以小区性社会教育作为存在的基础和在历史的进程中作为互相转换的中介。从个体的竞争力上说,我们很难判然断定体制性教育优于小区性社会教育。它给我们的启示是要发展体制性教育,我们必须培育作为其基础的社会和文化。

Abstract:By denouncing the dominant opinion on the history of Tibetan institutional education,which brings the topic to a parochial vista,the author argued there is the social education in community that supported the institutional education in history.Borrowing the term of `embedded' from essential school of economical anthropology,with Paul Polanyi as the leading figure,the author regarded the character of the social education in community as `embedded' in the community culturally and socially.With a case from a suburban community in central Tibet,the author showed this education `embedding' with the elementary concepts of Tibetan culture.It goes with the deployment of modern institutional education and its mutual,complementary,and dynamic interaction with the traditional institutional education in monasteries.The author demonstrated that while both institutional educations had to be based on the social education in community and rely it as the agent for their inter-exchanges,it is really difficult to say,judging from the individual abilities in social competitions,that institutional education is better than the social education in community.Therefore,he calls for cultivating the Tibetan culture and society as the bases for the deployment of modern education.
