志愿服务长效机制总体建设的探讨

青年志愿者作为志愿服务的主体，对志愿服务的水平、方向以及发展具有重要的影响。笔者通过对北京市青年志愿者调查发现，在当前的青年志愿服务中，存在着志愿服务的精神理解不深刻、志愿服务的实践缺少规范化和持久性等问题，因此．要通过加强志愿精神宣传、增强对志愿者的培训、强化对服务过程的管理、维护志愿者的合法权益等方面探讨建立青年志愿服务的长效机制，促进青年志愿服务的完善和发展。     

大学生持续性志愿服务行为影响因素

大学生志愿者的志愿服务行动已经成为服务社会主义精神文明建设、助力青年成长成才、完善社会动员机制和推动事业发展的重要创举。对沪上18所高校665名大学生的问卷调查显示,大学生志愿服务的参与度较高,但每学期平均参与时长较低、持续性参与不够或中途流失的问题普遍存在。研究发现,认知程度、参与动机等内在因素对广泛参与度影响显著,而高校和政府支持、组织管理满意度、岗位分配满意度等外在因素对深入参与度影响显著。内在因素是影响大学生是否会成为志愿者的主要因素,外在因素是影响大学生持续参加志愿服务的主要因素,推动大学生持续性志愿服务行为要依靠完善外在管理和保障,从而有效防止志愿者中途大量流失,构建志愿服务长效机制。     

志愿精神与世博会——大学生参与世博志愿服务的动机分析

2010年上海世博会的举办是向世人展示中国改革开放形象的一个契机,世博会中广大志愿者的辛劳与付出为这样的展示添上了浓墨重彩的一笔。其中以"小白菜"、"蓝精灵"为代表的大学生志愿者更是广泛分布于园区内外为游客排忧解难,他们将中国志愿服务事业又一次推向了高潮。志愿动机是影响大学生参与志愿服务的重要因素,同时也反映了志愿者参与志愿服务的价值取向。本文通过对大学生参与上海世博会志愿服务动机的实证研究,目的在于了解大学生参与志愿服务的动机类型,从而更好地把握大学生的心理、思想状况,以期为更有效地激发大学生广泛参与志愿服务活动提供现实依据。     

城市青年志愿活动参与动机研究

综合国际上对志愿者参与动机研究与我国本土经验研究，有利于深入分析城市青年参与志愿活动原因与动机。目前，青年参与志愿服务活动动机呈多元化特征：青年参与志愿者服务活动体现出较明显的政府动员特征，而宗教价值驱动不明显；青年参与志愿服务活动时,更多是基于一种社会公益的奉献精神与互助精神，在参与活动过程中也获得社会资本的积累。

中文词典《现代汉语词典》对志愿者服务的也作了详细的定义:"志愿者是指愿为社会公益活动,赛事,会议等服务的人"。综合来看,我们引以界定志愿服务的概念;是以服务为主的,具有资源,公益和无偿等特征的活动。本文通过对各高校大学生进行问卷调查,调查了大学生对青年志愿者行动的认识、理解及心态、参与志愿服务的原因和影响志愿服务开展的因素、对志愿服务的看法和希望等,为社会、高校研究大学生志愿服务情况并制定相关政策法规,为志愿者活动创造良好的环境提供资料及合理化建议。     

大学生志愿服务常态化机制建设的调查研究——以河南省郑州市龙子湖高校园区为例

志愿服务对于倡导积极的社会风气、增加社会凝聚力、构建和谐社会发挥着重要的作用。大学生是志愿者中的主体,志愿服务拓宽了青年参与社会进步的渠道,为提升大学生自身能力提供了一个有利平台。但目前大学生志愿服务的常态化、机制化建设存在着诸多制约因素,要想使大学生志愿服务走出困境,必须构建一个常态化长效机制,确保其继续为社会发展、公民道德的提升做出贡献。

Service Productivity: What Stops Service Firms from Measuring It?

Productivity measurement poses a challenge for service organizations. Conventional management wisdom holds that this challenge is rooted in the difficulty of accurately quantifying service inputs and outputs. Few service firms have adequate service productivity measurement (SPM) systems in place and implementing such systems may involve organizational transformation. Combining field interviews and literature-based insights, the authors develop a conceptual model of antecedents of SPM in service firms and test it using data from 276 service firms. Results indicate that one out of five antecedents affects the choice to use SPM, namely, the degree of service standardization. In addition, all five hypothesized antecedents and one additional antecedent (perceived appropriateness of the current SPM) predict the degree of SPM usage. In particular, the degree of SPM is positively influenced by the degree of service standardization, service customization, investments in service productivity gains, and the appropriateness of current service productivity measures. In turn, customer integration and the perceived difficulty of measuring service productivity negatively affect SPM. The fact that customer integration impedes actual measurement of service productivity is a surprising finding, given that customer integration is widely seen as a means to increase service productivity. The authors conclude with implications for service organizations and directions for research.

Several housing risk clients identified in Chapter 3 are profiled here in detail regarding their housing circumstances and how they have been coping with these problems. Individuals are described for whom disloaction was brief; for whom homelessness was long term, repeated or habitual; or who have never been without a home. Most persons in the latter category are subsisting in this state at substantial personal risk. The unique coping abilities of each type are highlighted.

Service Credit Banking:

Informal care provided by family and friends is widely recognized as one of the key factors in keeping long-term care financially manageable for individuals as well as for public programs. Sociodemographic trends predict that the demand for formal and informal home care services among the elderly will increase faster than the supply. Programs that allow volunteers to earn credits later redeemable for comparable services when they may be required are beginning to be examined as a way to help fill the need for respite services and other basic home care services. This paper examines key considerations of the service credit concept in the context of existing programs and initiatives designed to encourage its development.     

Invisible disabilities,visible Service Dogs: the discrimination of Service Dog handlers

This article examines the social experiences of Service Dog handlers using survey data from adult US Service Dog handlers (N = 482). The main research question examined is how disability visibility impacts the experiences of Service Dog-related discrimination. Analysis reveals that half of all Service Dog handlers report experiencing discrimination but those with invisible disabilities report experiencing significantly more discrimination. For those with invisible disabilities, the decision to use a Service Dog prevents them from ‘passing’ while at the same time opening them up to increased skepticism about the legitimacy of their disability.     

A Partnership Model for Family Service Agencies and Universities to Improve Service Utilization

ABSTRACT

Partnerships between family service agencies and universities have the potential for capitalizing on the resources and expertise of both types of institutions. This paper describes a model for developing collaborative partnerships between family service agencies and outreach research university programs. The original collaboration that is used as an example for this model sought to improve the engagement rates of reluctant families being referred to a family service agency for counseling services. Benefits and potential pitfalls to be addressed in such partnerships are presented.
