严羽和戴复古身世行迹诸问题考——对《严羽评传》的几点商榷性意见

严羽和戴复古订交的时间在绍定五年 (12 32 )而非嘉定十四年 (12 2 1) ;严羽避乱返乡时间在绍定四年而非元年 ;严羽的《平寇颂》写于端平元年 (12 34 )五月之后而非绍定三年间 ;戴复古布衣一生 ,并未任过邵武军学教授     

为生民立命和“天人合一”哲学

此文从“知命”“畏命”到“立命”等命题的演变揭示儒家“命”的思想的发展，并指出张载的“天人合一”哲学本意是强调“以人为本”，这正是其“为生民立命”思想的哲学基础，从而使这两个看似不相关连的命题有机结合，形成张载哲学的统一体。     

Education,Happiness and Wellbeing

Answers to the questions ‘Does education influence happiness and if so, how and how much?’ depend on how one defines and operationalizes ‘education’, ‘influences’ and ‘happiness’. A great variety of research scenarios may be constructed from our three essential variables. What public policies one ought to adopt and implement regarding the influence of education on happiness depends minimally on which of the great variety of research scenarios one adopts and maximally on lots of other things as well. My personal preference is for a robust definition of the three terms. Because human beings are complex organisms, an adequate construction of the idea of human wellbeing must also be complex. Therefore, any discipline-driven, reductionist definition that pyschologizes, medicalizes, economizes, geneticizes, socializes or politicizes the idea should be avoided.     

论梁启超的审美趣味观

梁启超把趣味看成生活的根芽和基本内容,从中反映了梁启超审美理想主义的人生观和社会理想。在他的趣味论思想中,有着中国传统文化的根底,并借鉴和运用了西方的相关理论和方法,更有着自己独到的体悟,对我们产生了深刻的启示和影响。他所谓的趣味,主要是指一种积极的、快乐的、有生意的情怀和充满活力与灵性的审美感受,具有丰满、充盈和富有生机等特点。它和人们的生活息息相关,体现了他对人生、对生命的肯定,表现出了一种乐观、向上的生命意识。它以敏锐的感觉器官为基础,需要诱发机缘,表现为内在情感和外在环境的契合,体现超越功利的“无所为”与责任心的统一,并具体论述了获得趣味的三种途径和因势利导的趣味教育。     

Economic convergence and life satisfaction in the European Union

The issue of convergence or divergence in the European Union (EU) is usually viewed from a macroeconomic perspective, using indicators such as the income per head, the unemployment rate and the inflation rate. Little attention has been paid to the possibility of an associated convergence in ‘well-being’ across countries. Since recent literature has shown that subjective well-being (life satisfaction, ‘happiness’) is significantly affected by macroeconomic variables, it is natural to ask not only whether or not subjective well-being converges, but also, whether, how and to what extent this process is linked to macroeconomic convergence. In this paper we use self-rated life satisfaction elicited in large scale surveys to address these questions. We find evidence of convergence of life satisfaction across the member states of the EU, which can be attributed to a considerable extent to the convergence in macroeconomic conditions. Among the various macroeconomic indicators, the convergence in inflation rates has played a major role for the convergence in life satisfaction.     

The Relative Importance of Health

This article seeks to extend Michalos’ [Social indicators research and health-related quality of life (QoL) research. Social Indicators Research, 65, 27–72, 2004] discussion on bridging social indicators research and health-related QoL (HRQoL) research through an examination of (1) the relative importance of satisfaction with one’s own health to another common measure of QoL—Life satisfaction, and (2) the relative importance of health in relation to other major life domains. Using data from two surveys, this article found that individuals may perceive health as most important in relation to other major life domains but satisfaction with one’s own health may not necessarily be the most important determining factor (in relation to satisfaction with other major life domains) of QoL as measured by life satisfaction. These findings support Michalos’ (Social indicators research and HRQoL research. Social Indicators Research, 65, 27–72, 2004) call for caution regarding the interpretation of research results on HRQoL since many HRQoL measures are measures of satisfaction with one’s own health and should not be considered as measures of QoL.     

"尽性至命之学"——阳明子生死智慧探微

本文主要探讨王阳明的生死智慧,并进而指出其现代意义。认为,阳明子以"尽性至命之学"来超越"生死之念",包括"惧死恋生之念"和"求死解脱之念",从而大悟"良知"之旨,实现了"昼夜生死"之体知;阳明子还以"死得其所"为生死践履,既要求人们为道义、事业而勇于献身,又要求人们应该保身全生(性),不要为取外物而伤身害命。阳明子的生死智慧既具有深远的历史意义,也具有现实的应用价值。     

Life satisfaction and family structure among adolescents in Hong Kong

Relationships between family structure and perceived life satisfaction in overall life and five domains of the Brief Multidimensional Students’ Life Satisfaction Scale, family life, friendships, school experience, myself, and where I live were examined among 4,502 Chinese adolescent secondary school students in Hong Kong. Bivariate analyses showed that economic status was not a significant risk factor, but gender, level of study, and migrant status had to be controlled to examine the life satisfaction-family structure relations. Logistic regression analyses found that in overall life, with adolescents living with two parents as standard for comparisons, adolescents living with mother had similar life satisfaction, but those living with father only, and those with no parents, or single parent with other adults had very much higher risk of life dissatisfaction. Specifically, the risks associated with the adverse family structures were most excessive in the domain of ‘family life’.
