Reality-play--experiential learning in social work training

A unique teaching model, called reality-play, arose as the result of the author's two concerns about how to teach students to integrate a theoretical model as a working tool in social work and how to prevent them from categorising people. In this teaching approach students have to go through a whole social work process by using their own real life challenges as learning material. The purpose is to learn social work from the perspective of a social worker, a user and an observer at the same time. The paper is divided into two parts. The first paper introduced the teaching model, showed how it built on an overall theoretical perspective of social constructionism, and on learning theories of adult, experiential and confluent learning to meet the concerns mentioned above. This second part presents a student evaluation of the teaching model in relation to three interwoven topics: involvement, integration of theory and practice, and awareness.

The following article describes conditions in South Africa just as the "dismantling of apartheid" was beginning in earnest at the start of this decade. Thus it provides something of a baseline by which to compare changes which have taken place in that country since then. However, its greater contribution may be its evocation of the atmosphere of the time. As such it provides a unique perspective and a useful addition to the historical record of South African social welfare as well as a testament to those who struggled and continue to struggle to serve the nation's children.     

The Red Hat Society®: Exploring the Role of Play,Liminality, and Communitas in Older Women's Lives

ABSTRACT

There is an extensive literature on play. Yet, the role of play in older adults' lives has received limited attention. Strikingly absent is research on play and older women. Missing from the literature is how older women use play as a liminal context for social interaction and communitas. This is odd because by 2030 one in four American women will be over the age of sixty-five. The primary purpose of this study is to explore the roles of play, liminality, and communitas in older women's lives. The focus is the Red Hat Society®, a social group for women over age 50 that fosters play and fun. Using qualitative interviews with focus groups and participant observation of a regional Red Hat Society® event, the study highlights some of the strengths and weaknesses of current conceptualizations of play, liminality, and communitas.

西方艺术游戏论述评

近代以来的西方游戏理论主要有自由论、和谐论、虚拟论、融合论及内在目的论五种。基于这五种游戏理论的艺术游戏论或艺术与游戏的关系论的代表人物分别是康德、席勒、弗洛伊德、伽达默尔和胡伊青加。主张艺术游戏论或谈论艺术与游戏的关系的理论家们对于艺术与游戏及其相互关系的理解都有所不同。近代以来的西方艺术游戏论都是既有一定合理性而又不尽合理的。     

美国华裔戏剧的历史与现状

美国华裔戏剧已有大约百年的历史,其发展大致可以划分为三个阶段:20世纪20年代为初级阶段;20世纪70年代为崛起阶段;20世纪80年代至今为繁荣发展时期.在近百年的发展历程中,美国华裔戏剧无论从创作主题、戏剧形式,还是影响范围,都有很大的变化,涌现出了许多优秀的剧作家和作品.研究美国华裔剧作对于研究海外华人戏剧传统的建构,探讨中国文化与文学对海外华人戏剧的影响,以及了解华裔戏剧在海外的接受,都有重要的现实意义.     

中国影戏“例戏”的文化功能

中国影戏在上演正戏之前，一般都会要先演出一段仪式性的“例戏”。各地影戏“例戏”的演出时间长短不一，形式也繁简有别，其剧目也要视场合不同而选择，但无论何种形式，何种场合的“例戏”演出，其文化功能都是一样的，或恭请神灵为俗民祈福纳祥，祛邪禳灾；或是借其超度亡灵。     

田纳西·威廉斯戏剧作品中的自然世界

美国杰出戏剧家田纳西.威廉斯的作品虽多以现代工业城市为背景,但也不乏自然世界的参与。在创作力最为旺盛的405,0,和60年代,威廉斯以高超的创作技巧为观众展示了三种自然世界。前两种自然在威廉斯的笔下都是被动和客体的角色。在第三种自然世界里,威廉斯真正走入了原生态自然,从交互主体的角度整体性地来欣赏原生态自然,从而揭示了自然独立存在的美。     

电视剧制作的人性化表达——小议中韩两国电视剧的编剧制作技巧

近几年来,中国的电视剧市场有了进一步的细分和发展。本文以我国目前的实际电视剧制作水平出发,与韩国的电视制作进行比较,分析目前我国电视剧创作上,对于之前的经典“韩剧”流行模式的复制模仿、重新组合拍摄的潮流现象,并指出其中存在的深层次问题,总结经验,对比中韩电视剧制作和编剧内涵上的差异,对我国的电视剧产业化发展进行了思考和预测。     

刘艺舟民国元年行迹新考

刘艺舟民国元年之行迹清晰地昭示了文明戏的早期形态和属性,其本人亦为借戏剧活动推行政治理念的先导和表率,因而极具典范意义。1912年中国推翻帝制,刘艺舟也进入他政治和演剧活动的活跃期。他和革命志士光复登州、黄县,在上海新舞台演出新剧,组织新剧俱进会。他开展社会活动,发表政治言论,践行三民主义。年底,他率蒙藏探险团北上,谋求和平解决蒙、藏问题,以实现“五族共和”的建国理想。
