排课模版的构思与探讨

Optimal Bayesian Randomization

Randomization is a puzzle for Bayesians. The intuitive need for randomization is clear, but there is a standard result that Bayesians need not randomize. In this paper we propose a model in which randomization is a strictly optimal procedure. The most important aspect of our model is that there are several parties who make different decisions and observe different data. The result also sheds light on the ethical considerations involving randomization in a clinical trial.     

An alternative estimator for multiple characteristics in PPS sampling

The problem considered relates to large-scale sample surveys. A new estimator of population total for the characteristics that are poorly correlated with the selection probabilities has been developed for the PPSWR sampling scheme. The relative efficiency of the proposed estimator has been studied under a super-population model. A numerical investigation into the performance of the estimator has also been made.

Exact inference for a simple step-stress model with competing risks for failure from exponential distribution under Type-II censoring

In reliability analysis, accelerated life-testing allows for gradual increment of stress levels on test units during an experiment. In a special class of accelerated life tests known as step-stress tests, the stress levels increase discretely at pre-fixed time points, and this allows the experimenter to obtain information on the parameters of the lifetime distributions more quickly than under normal operating conditions. Moreover, when a test unit fails, there are often more than one fatal cause for the failure, such as mechanical or electrical. In this article, we consider the simple step-stress model under Type-II censoring when the lifetime distributions of the different risk factors are independently exponentially distributed. Under this setup, we derive the maximum likelihood estimators (MLEs) of the unknown mean parameters of the different causes under the assumption of a cumulative exposure model. The exact distributions of the MLEs of the parameters are then derived through the use of conditional moment generating functions. Using these exact distributions as well as the asymptotic distributions and the parametric bootstrap method, we discuss the construction of confidence intervals for the parameters and assess their performance through Monte Carlo simulations. Finally, we illustrate the methods of inference discussed here with an example.     

The analysis of age-specific fertility patterns via logistic models

In this paper, we introduce logistic models to analyse fertility curves. The models are formulated as linear models of the log odds of fertility and are defined in terms of parameters that are interpreted as measures of level, location and shape of the fertility schedule. This parameterization is useful for the evaluation, and interpretation of fertility trends and projections of future period fertility. For a series of years, the proposed models admit a state-space formulation that allows a coherent joint estimation of parameters and forecasting. The main features of the models compared with other alternatives are the functional simplicity, the flexibility, and the interpretability of the parameters. These and other features are analysed in this paper using examples and theoretical results. Data from different countries are analysed, and to validate the logistic approach, we compare the goodness of fit of the new model against well-known alternatives; the analysis gives superior results in most developed countries.     

中国财产保险公司的规模效率DEA实证研究

保险行业发展的质量与效率问题渐渐成为了大家关注的焦点。利用2003～2005年间中国财产保险行业发展的相关数据,运用数据包络分析（DEA）的相关数学模型,对中国各大财产保险公司规模效率进行实证研究,分析测度其规模效率,结果表明公司规模与规模效率间的关系不太明显,即规模很大的公司,规模效率并不一定就高;恰恰相反的是,规模效率较高的均为规模不大的保险公司。     

佛教禅宗对王维山水诗的影响浅谈

王维常乐于禅,禅宗哲学的人生观、宇宙观和方法论内化成为王维的审美追求,外化则成就了他的诗歌创作,他深得禅家“不二法门”、“色空相即”三昧,故而其诗意象空灵、境界清幽,明秀的诗境中既有宁静的画面又有灵动的情韵,能于空静中传出动荡,平淡中透出幽深。受南宗禅“不立文字”的影响,王维做诗追求言外之旨以期达到对文字的超越,这使得其诗超旷空灵,如水中月、镜中花,羚羊挂角,无迹可寻,所谓“超以象外”、“得其环中”。
