主位推进模式在翻译实践中的应用

以韩礼德和哈桑的主位推进理论为指导,讨论在翻译实践中如何运用朱永生、严世清(2001)总结的四种基本的主位推进模式,通过在结构层次上对主位推进模式的保留与转换来达到功能意义上的对等。文章提出在翻译实践中,要使译文既忠实于原文,又能达到交流的目的,不仅需要根据主位推进模式有效地理解原文,更需要根据语义和语言习惯,相应地保留或转换主位推进模式。     

大学英语阅读逻辑推理能力的培养与实践--基于语篇分析理论的大学英语阅读课程

英语阅读能力的提高不仅仅意味着单方面提高学生的英语水平,还必须提高其逻辑思维能力,这样才能对文章有更为准确地理解。传统的大学英语阅读教学侧重于语法词汇的讲解,忽视了对学生逻辑思维能力的培养。将培养学生的逻辑思维能力设为大学英语阅读课程的主要目的,以阅读材料为例,从语篇分析理论出发,运用语篇的主述位理论及主位推进模式对选用的语篇进行解读,,以此提高学生的阅读理解能力。     

The Proxy Effect: Gender and Gambling Problem Trajectories of Iowa Gambling Treatment Program Participants

Recent research has found that men and women who end up in gambling treatment tend to follow different trajectories to that endpoint: women generally begin gambling later in life, but progress to problems and seek treatment more quickly. With women’s prevalence rates of gambling and disordered gambling increasing, it has become important to identify the causes and consequences of these trajectory differences. The current study used a sample of 2,256 gamblers enrolled in the Iowa Gambling Treatment Program to examine the relationship of gender and other demographic, economic and health-related (i.e., psychosocial) factors to empirically-identified gambling problem trajectories. The results indicated that gender made a statistically significant contribution to the prediction of trajectory, but increased predictive accuracy by only 1–2% beyond a model with psychosocial predictors. Gender’s contribution was limited to its relationship to age of initiation; men and women’s problem progression did not differ meaningfully once age of gambling initiation was taken into account. Gender is a unique contributor to the development of gambling problems among treatment seekers, but it is only one small part of the myriad psychosocial characteristics that influence gambling problem development.

基于主位推进模式的汉英翻译研究

主位推进模式是功能语言学的重要理论,将句子序列作为连贯性的语篇进行研究,是组织语篇信息,实现语言元功能的一种手段.汉英两种语言的主位推进模式有类似和重合之处,定量分析表明二者均可划分为持续型、直线型、独立型和衍生型四种基本模式,但是汉英翻译并非简单地照搬源语的主位推进模式.通过对汉英主位推进模式的对比研究,译者可深入分析话语链中主述位之间的关系,将源语的主位推进模式译为更适合目的语的表达方式,通过语篇的衔接照应等多种方法构建出连贯顺畅的译文.     

中国失独妇女总量、结构及变动趋势计算机仿真研究

在回顾以往对独生子女死亡和失独家庭研究的基础上，文章从基本概念、分析方法和关键研究问题等方面指出以往研究中存在的问题，提出终身失独概率估计方法和失独育龄妇女再生育可能性等，指出用独生子女死亡概念近似失独妇女，其结果有可能大大高估时期失独妇女的总量。由于受计划生育政策影响，中国育龄妇女二孩生育水平和生育模式发生巨大变化，将失独育龄妇女再生育看做是1－＞2递进生育也有可能高估失独妇女的总量。通过人口普查、抽样调查数据和计算机微观人口系统仿真分析技术，估计目前35岁及以上失独妇女数量在140万左右，2050年前中国时期失独妇女总量超过600万的可能性不大，失独家庭达到或超过1000万的可能性也不大。     

叠进故事初探

我们把那种层累式重复、渐次展开的故事类型称为叠进故事。叠进故事的独特性主要在于它的结构形式而不是故事情节,所以,这类故事往往只有场景,而没有连贯的情节,没有围绕“他”而展开情节的主人公。其中也有一部分民间叙事作品是有一定情节的,但它们的叠进结构的特点极为突出,故而一并纳入这一类别进行形态分析。叠进故事大体上可以分为三种类型:链接式;递增式;递进式。     

汉语语法形式和语法意义的研究述评

本文列举汉语语法形式和语法意义有代表性的研究成果,概括出目前对语法形式和语法意义研究的总体情况:1.语法形式是在组合中产生的,是语法意义的外部标志;2.目前的研究在两方面方兴未艾,一个是隐性语法形式和语法意义,另一个是"三个平面"理论中的形式和意义研究;3.语法意义具有层次性。

Brief Communications: Gender Differences in Gambling Progression

The authors compared 39 women and 38 men entering an outpatient treatment program for pathological gambling. They were diagnosed according to DSM-IV and selected by SOGS, followed by a semi-structured interview for demography and progression of the gambling behavior prior to treatment. Women were more often single (59% vs. 26%; p = .005) and started gambling significantly later than men (34.2 vs. 20.4 years; p < .001). The progression of the disorder was more than 2 times faster in women than in men. There was no difference in the age of seeking treatment (44.7 vs. 42.3 years). Findings from this study resemble gender differences in other addictions—in particular the faster progression among women—challenge pharmacodynamic hypotheses for this phenomenon, and suggest gender into account when devising treatment strategies for pathological gambling.
