Estimators of percentiles based on absolute loss

Estimators of percentiles of location and scale parameter distributions are optimized based on Pitman closeness and absolute risk. A median unbiased (MU) estimator and a minimum risk (MR) estimator are shown to exist within a class of estimators, and to depend upon the medians of two completely specified distributions.     

大学生人际交往能力现状的实证分析

采用自编《大学生人际交往能力调查问卷》,对某高校的380名本科生进行施测。结果显示:大学生人际交往能力的总体水平较好;不同性别、独生子女与非独生子女、不同来源地、不同年级、不同专业的大学生人际交往能力存在显著性差异。具体而言,男性大学生在影响力、开放性、包容度和人际结交能力方面均稍好于女性,但在情绪控制、友谊表达、人际理解能力方面,则女性好于男性;独生子女在人际交往能力的很多方面都优于非独生子女;来自大中城市的学生,人际交往能力要优于来自农村的学生;在人际结交能力、包容度方面,理工类学生要强于文科类学生;人际处理能力、人际理解能力随着年级的升高而逐渐提高。

A Family Therapist's Look Into Interpersonal Neurobiology and the Adolescent Brain: An Interview With Dr Daniel Siegel

Advances in brain research are increasingly having an impact on clinical interventions in all fields of psychotherapy. For adolescent family therapists it is important not only to understand the developing adolescent brain, but also how brain research can influence interventions aimed at interrupting problematic familial interactions. Interpersonal neurobiology and the ideas of Dr Daniel Siegel synthesise the interpersonal with the scientific, offering practical clinical methods of incorporating the research into everyday practice. This article incorporates a verbatim interview with Dr Siegel about the adolescent brain, interpersonal neurobiology and attachment with an outline of key concepts from interpersonal neurobiology including the hand model of the brain, nine functions of the prefrontal cortex, the triangle of wellbeing and eight domains of integration. Clinical applications are suggested using a common presenting problem of escalating conflict between teenagers and their parents.

Aggressive Behaviors in Social Interaction and Developmental Adaptation: A Narrative Analysis of Interpersonal Conflicts During Early Adolescence

Using conflict narratives reported by adolescents in grade 7 (mean age = 13.4 years), this study investigated the interactional properties and developmental functions of four types of aggressive behaviors: social aggression, direct relational aggression, physical aggression, and verbal aggression. A total of 475 participants from the Carolina Longitudinal Study ( Cairns & Cairns, 1994 ) were included. Results showed that the majority of conflict interactions involved more than a dyad. The use of social aggression (e.g., concealed social attack) was associated with more individuals involved in the conflict. Social aggression was primarily reported as an initiating behavior for interpersonal conflicts, while direct relational aggression was a responding behavior. Medium to high levels of reciprocity were found for physical, verbal, and direct relational aggression, whereas a low level of reciprocity was reported for social aggression. School authorities were most likely to intervene in physical aggression. The use of social aggression was associated with higher network centrality among adolescents. Developmental maladjustment in late adolescence and early adulthood was primarily predicted by physical aggression.
