The potential for golf courses to support restoration of biodiversity for BioBanking offsets

In golf course development there is frequently remnant vegetation on the areas unused for infrastructure. We propose that these areas, together with a whole range of other reserves including sporting fields, cemeteries, railway reserves and educational facilities may be the source of degraded remnant vegetation and associated open space that could be used to provide offsets for biodiversity. We followed the changes in vertebrate biodiversity with low key alteration to management of the Camden Lakeside Golf Course to assess if such areas had the potential for biodiversity banking offsets. Birds, bats, frogs and reptiles increased in species diversity over time. Frogs and reptiles tended to peak in species numbers during the observational period but bat and bird diversity continued to increase. We concluded that on this ‘island’ within a matrix of urbanisation and cleared agricultural lands without remnant vegetation, observed changes in diversity made such areas potential sites for biodiversity banking offsets.     

Euler(p,q) Processes and Their Application to Non Stationary Time Series with Time Varying Frequencies

We introduce Euler(p, q) processes as an extension of the Euler(p) processes for purposes of obtaining more parsimonious models for non stationary processes whose periodic behavior changes approximately linearly in time. The discrete Euler(p, q) models are a class of multiplicative stationary (M-stationary) processes and basic properties are derived. The relationship between continuous and discrete mixed Euler processes is shown. Fundamental to the theory and application of Euler(p, q) processes is a dual relationship between discrete Euler(p, q) processes and ARMA processes, which is established. The usefulness of Euler(p, q) processes is examined by comparing spectral estimation with that obtained by existing methods using both simulated and real data.

1946至1949年，在国民党统治区，由于部分记者利用职务之便招摇撞骗，为社会所厌恨，新闻界自发掀起了一场旨在“建立职业道德”的“整肃运动”，包括营造整肃的舆论声势、设置整肃机构、惩治贪腐记者等。然而，受记者待遇、新闻界自身组织和政府部门作风等问题的制约，这场运动没能有效阻止记者的贪贿行为。     

频偏条件下基于循环平稳的定时估计算法

研究了利用信号的循环平稳统计特性提取定时误差的估计算法,由于性能的优良是建立在大量统计信息的基础上,因而所需的观测时间长度较大,同时算法受频偏的影响也随观测时间长度的增大而增大。针对该特点,研究了频偏对算法性能的影响及存在频偏环境下算法中参数的选择。仿真结果表明,频偏对该类算法的影响不可忽略,尤其是在观测时间长度较大的情况下。实用中应结合具体频偏大小,合理选择参数取值。     

“革命史范式”和“本体论范式”的转换——中国新闻传播史研究路径的思考

对新闻史研究范式尤其是对居主导地位的"革命史范式"的影响和评价的检讨,是近年来新闻史学界的一个热门话题."革命史范式"源于特殊时代,因此对它的批评应结合具体的历史场景来进行;新闻事业"本体"的纷繁复杂以及对"本体论"解读的莫衷一是,"本体论范式"也难于自圆其说.通过对两个范式的考量发现:构建一个范式来研究新闻史的做法,不符合新闻事业发生与发展的规律;研究的基本出发点应该是在还原历史场景的基础上,以探求历史事实之真和总结新闻史发展的历史规律为圭臬.
