On estimating the difference of location parameters of two negative exponential distributions

Fixed-width confidence intervals for the difference of location parameters of two negative-exponential distributions have been constructed through two-stage and purely sequential schemes. The two cases when the scale parameters are equal but unknown, and unequal but unknown, have been dealt with separately. Our two-stage procedures guarantee the exact confidence coefficient to be at least the nominal prescribed level. Various second-order expansions are also considered when sequential procedures are proposed. It is noted that no new tables are needed to implement these procedures in practice.

论语言适应论的语境生成观

语言适应论框架下的语境论是一种以适应性为核心的生成观,它认为语境不是给定的,而是一个动态的受限生成过程。这种生成观将语境的建构性、自组织性、受限性与涌现性的关系的认识,提出到一个新的理论层面,它具有三个显著特征:1."生成"是受限的;2.语境生成的"过程"重于生成的"结果";3."生成"是涌现的。     

南京国民政府法官惩戒程序研究

自清末修律以来,关于法官惩戒的思考与立法实践一直是引人注目的问题.南京国民政府模范中西,斟酌损益,制定了一系列的惩戒规范,构建了独特的法官惩戒制度.根据《公务员惩戒法》,法官惩戒的启动权属于监察院,审议权属于司法院内设的中央公务员惩戒委员会,两者皆有严密而公正的程序,体现了正当程序的基本原理.我国当前尚无专门的法官惩戒法,反思这些历史资源,可以为我国未来的制度设计提供有益的养分.     

Estimation of multiple gamma scale-parameters: bayes estimation subject to uniform domination

Simultaneous estimation of p gamma scale-parameters is considered under squared-error loss. The problem of minimizing, subject to uniform risk domination, the Bayes risk (or more generally the posterior expected loss) against certain conjugate or mixtures of conjugate priors is considered. Rather surprisingly, it is shown that the minimization can be done conditionally, thus avoiding variational arguments. Relative savings loss (and a posterior version thereof) are found, and it is found that in the most favorable situations, Bayesian robustness can be achieved without sacrificing substantial subjective Bayesian gains.     

A simple test for new better than used in expectation

We present a statistical procedure to test that a life distribution is exponential against the al ternative that it is continuous new better than used in expectation. The test is shown to be consistent and asymptotic relative efficiency resul ts are obtained against the competitor developed earlier by Hollander and Proschan [2], for certain families of alternatives.
