尊重·责任·关怀:当代学校道德教育价值原则的意蕴转换

学校道德教育承载着培养未来社会合格公民的任务,究竟应该用什么样的价值观来引导和教育未成年人,在当今显得特别重要。我们将“尊重.责任.关怀”这三个最为根源性的核心价值原则的意蕴进行当代转换,并将之设计为学校道德教育的价值原则,是当代学校道德教育应对社会转型的一种选择。     

人的发展：社会发展的主体特征和价值旨归

人的发展与社会发展具有深刻的一致性。从发展的主体向度看 ,社会发展就是人的发展 ,它是人为的发展和为人的发展的统一 ;社会发展的终极价值 ,在于使人类的深层发展进入自由王国。     

伟人的终极关怀--论毛泽东的生死观

终极关怀与人的生死问题密切相关,是人类超越生死对立的基本途径。对生死问题的思考贯注于毛泽东的一生。毛泽东超越生死的基本心态是乐观、奋斗,从早年到晚年都是如此,尽管其中也有重要差异;毛泽东将生死问题置于终极性价值关怀之下而消解了生死的尖锐对立,这种终极性价值关怀在早年是抽象的精神实体,即"大本大源",在世界观发生转变以后,则是共产主义理想、人民本位。在人文精神失落、终极性价值消褪的今天,重温毛泽东的生死观有着重要的意义。     

Dignity in dementia: Person-centered care in community

Drawing on Kitwood's [Ageing Soc. 13 (1993) 51] theory of person-centered care and the interpersonal process of caregiving, this article offers an alternative to the image of the family caregiver as victim through an exploration of the lived experience of caring for a person with dementia in community. Extending care beyond coping, the act of giving care is promoted as a worthy activity and reciprocal social opportunity. Three nonfamily caregiver “portraits” are offered in an arts-informed representational form. The relational processes of caregiving are explored from the vantage point of personal experience and theoretical knowledge. Dignity emerges as the resonant quality, essential value, and guiding principle in an ethic of dementia care. Implications about the direction of research about care and caregiving and research accessibility and usefulness are explored.

This piece presents six short scenes from the conception of twins by alternative insemination through gender determination and birth, to the first vaccination. It shows that the question “Who is the real mother?” is just as important as the question “Is your baby a boy or a girl?”

Negotiating Quality: Total Quality Management and the Complexities of Transforming Professional Organizations

During the past two decades organizations in many industries have introduced management-style changes, such as employee involvement (EI) and total quality management (TQM). In the health care sector, one change has been the inclusion of TQM into the accreditation process. Using ethnographic and interview data, this case study examines the process of introducing TQM into a professional organization—a hospital—and shows how successful implementation of such new management styles in professional organizations requires complex negotiations of existing formal and informal power relationships. Some employees and middle managers embraced the TQM philosophy and techniques and successfully influenced the implementation and project-team design. In this case, administrators used TQM as rhetoric and justification for increased bureaucratic control, goals that are distinctly at odds with the ideological objectives of TQM.
