iDecide: supporting inclusive decision-making in European schools

iDecide is a KA3 - Support for policy reform project with partners from public and private sectors- from Cyprus, Romania, Greece, Ireland and Portugal. iDecide was conceptualised with the aim of supporting school leaders and teachers in their efforts marginalised groups, and to support their learning in their everyday decision-making. The iDecide toolkit supports the decision-making processes that the majority of schools face every day in all aspects of school life (visits and excursions, school projects, parental involvement, school canteen, homework, students’ council etc). The iDecide toolkit has the capacity to provide teachers and school leaders with practical guidelines for these common decisions in straightforward, simple language. It also gives school leaders the opportunity to retrieve pupils’ and parents' opinions through online polls and forum discussions. This short paper describes the iDecide toolkit functions.     

Student Perspectives of Online Discussions: Strengths and Weaknesses

SUMMARY

Limited research exists that examines student perceptions of online discussions in fully online classes. This is a report of initial investigation into undergraduate distance education majors' perspectives of the pedagogical value of online discussions. Over a two semester period (Spring and Fall, 2003), students taking the same online course delivered using Web Course Tools (WebCT) were surveyed regarding opinions of online discussions. The students surveyed were undergraduate students enrolled in a fully online degree program at New Mexico State University (NMSU). Although limitations exist due to small sample size and a non-standardized data collection instrument, findings from this exploratory study offer insight into undergraduate distance education student opinions of the strengths and weaknesses of online discussions as a pedagogical tool.

CRM是企业以客户为中心的营销管理理论和方法,是企业运用网络技术对营销管理的创新,主要包括:营销思想观念、营销管理重点和营销方法的创新。CRM的核心思想就是:建立为用户提供产品或服务的组织,找到、留住并提升价值客户,从而提高组织的盈利能力经济效益、社会效益,并增强竞争优势。客户是企业发展最重要的资源之一,因而应对企业与客户发生的各种关系进行全面管理和进一步延伸企业销售链管理。实践经验表明,成功实施CRM需注意四个问题:一是要明确实施策略,二是要变革业务流程,三是要选择好合作方,四是要重视客户工作。     

The impact of political violence: Adaptation and identity development in Bosnian adolescent refugees∗

This qualitative study explored the impact of the war in the former Yugoslavia and the experiences of forced exile on the processes of adaptation and identity development for five Bosnian adolescent refugees who have lived the United States for at least two years. Sources of resilience were found in individual temperament, adaptive responses to trauma, and cultural and family pride and loyalty. Because current research on political violence tends to focus on psychopathological outcomes and PTSD sequelae, particular attention was given to examining cultural meanings of trauma and development, as well as the health‐promoting forces that can occur in response to extreme trauma. Findings suggest several implications for future research as well as implications for mental health professionals working with refugees.     

精神损害赔偿刍论——以精神损害赔偿司法解释为中心

《关于确定民事侵权精神损害赔偿责任若干问题的解释》是我国人身权利保护方面的具有里程碑意义的规范性法律文件。文章提出“精神损害赔偿“无法周延地概括精神抚慰制度，并从四个角度透视了该解释：权利型客体的重新排序、法人或其他组织的精神抚慰制度的新建、“一事不再理”诉讼原则的新认识、残疾赔偿金和死亡赔偿金新解。以期使精神抚慰制度以较完整的体系体现在已列入立法规划的《侵权责任法》中。     

《汉语大词典》个别词目释义商订

《汉语大词典》虽是迄今为止国内外质量最高的一部大型语文词典 ,但个别词目的释义仍有可商订之处。如对“三武”、“人事”、“少御”、“尖团音”、“台铉”、“咬舌”数词的释义就或有错误或有可商榷之处。     

Talking about emotion: how are conversations about emotion enabled in the context of social work practice education?

It is widely acknowledged that emotion is a potent force in social work practice and practice education which can have a significant impact on both practice and practitioner experience. So too, is the recognition that social work students may face higher levels of stress than their qualified colleagues—social work itself, one of the professions where workers often experience higher levels of emotional demand than do other occupational groups. In terms of professional training courses for students entering the ‘helping professions’, there is a visible theme of heightened student pressure that relates, in some way, to the practicum aspect of their qualifying course. Relatedly, there is a clear consensus that the quality of the student-Practice Educator relationship is a key determinant of student learning and student experience. This article presents the findings of a small-scale qualitative research study, investigating how conversations about emotion are enabled within supervision, from a sample of final year qualifying students (n = 4) and Practice Educators (n = 5). It intends to make a contribution to the literature concerned with the development of good practice in this area, with a particular focus on the facilitative approaches of Practice Educators and the preparation of students for professional practice.     

关于旅游业定位、性质和作用的辨析

长期以来,旅游业在中国的经济发展中起着重要的积极推动作用,一直被定位为世界第一大产业,在性质上则是投资少、见效快、收益高的产业,也是一个强关联性的产业,其在作用上能够平衡国际收支与外汇管理。然事实上,对旅游业的这些定位、性质及作用的认识都存在着一定的误解,时至今日,其一些观点已经不合时宜,一些提法也比较模糊,因此有必要对此进行科学合理的重新认定。     

新的研讨新的成果——2008中国镇江赛珍珠国际学术研讨会综述

纪念赛珍珠获诺贝尔文学奖70周年暨镇江市国际友好交流大会期间，2008中国镇江赛珍珠国际学术研讨会召开。本次研讨会取得了新的丰硕的学术成果，主要表现在史料的挖掘与历史的考察、文本的阐释与比较意识的增强、对赛珍珠思想的探究与文化精神的凝练诸方面，并由此将赛珍珠研究提升到了一个新的水准。
