The tension between providing services to marginalized groups and organizing them for advocacy to challenge power structures is a fundamental dilemma for Social Change Service Organizations (SCSO). This dilemma exists in many civil society organizations, especially those that work with indigenous communities, such as the Bedouin in Israel, where providing immediate services and advocating for policy change are crucial. Literature shows the tensions that arise from combining service provision and advocacy. However, there are very few studies showing how these organizations manage and overcome these tensions sustainably. The present study is an exploratory case study using the AJEEC (Arab‐Jewish Center for Empowerment, Equality, and Cooperation) in the Naqab as an instrumental single case. It provides an in‐depth understanding of the tensions AJEEC is facing and reveals AJEEC’s unique approach and strategies for managing these tensions effectively and sustainably within the social, political, and cultural contexts. 作为农村社区“两委”换届选举的关键步骤,农村社区“两委”候选人的产生备受关注。借助街道党组织社区“两委”候选人换届政策文本,勾勒出社区“两委”候选人在基层党组织设定的双重候选条件下的当选逻辑,并以fs-QCA定性比较分析法对社区“两委”候选人胜出资质进行检验。结果显示,良好群众基础是潜在候选胜出的必要条件,同时具备群众基础和政绩两要素是潜在候选人胜出的有效途径;仅凭借经济实力或宗族势力等资源禀赋并不能使其成为“两委”正式候选人;街道组织部门受政治稳定逻辑驱使,往往采取多样化策略减少社区选举“变数”。因此,基层党组织对农村社区“两委”选举过程的有限介入并非有损基层民主质量,相反,它使农村社区选举表现出有别于乡村选举的优良特质。  相似文献

Hybrid organizational forms that combine commercial and welfare institutional logics play an increasingly important role in addressing the grand societal challenges we face today. Building on the literatures on hybrid organizations and social business models, we explore the characteristics of social businesses from a business model perspective. This study seeks to better understand the particularities and value drivers of hybrid social purpose in contrast to purely commercial business models. We follow a grounded theory approach and our findings are based on interview data from 17 social business firms. Building on social businesses' identified particularities, we propose four value drivers of social business models: 1) responsible efficiency, 2) impact complementarities, 3) shared values, and 4) integration novelties. We link our findings to the literature, contributing new insights into social businesses models and implications for practitioners.  相似文献

基层公务员的职业认同对公务员队伍建设和推进国家治理能力现代化有着重要的意义。本文通过对760名基层公务员的问卷调查发现:基层公务员职业认同包括职业行为投入、职业发展认同和职业价值认同三个维度,呈现出以价值认同为核心、行为投入为外层、发展认同居中的圈层结构;基层公务员职业认同接近较高水平,但职业发展认同较低;不同类型基层公务员职业认同呈现出一定差异,其中青年公务员的职业认同显著低于中老年公务员,低职级公务员较高职级公务员职业认同更低。进一步分析发现,基层公务员职业认同能正向预测工作绩效,职业认同能负向预测离职倾向。在此基础上,本研究提出提升基层公务员职业认同的相关对策建议。  相似文献

环境污染风险具有流动性、不确定性、跨时空性、不可测量性及难以修复性特征,导致环境污染国家治理机制和环境污染市场治理机制存在制度性局限,亟须建构环境污染社会第三方治理机制。环保社会第三方具有公共性、公益性、专业性、中立性及组织性的特点,环境污染社会第三方治理能够实现利益诉求、利益发展、利益协调及利益保障的制度绩效。针对环境污染社会第三方治理面临的宏观权力结构性失衡、中观机制整体性失调、微观行为系统性失范等瓶颈,优化我国环境污染社会第三方治理的结构性均衡机制、整体性实施机制和系统性规范机制。  相似文献

党的十八大以来,各领域的基层党建工作全面推进。如何创新高校二级党组织党建考核工作,是高校党建领域的一项重要课题。高校二级党组织党建工作责任的考核指标体系,必须以习近平总书记对党建工作的重要论述、党中央对全面从严治党的战略部署和相关党内法规为理论基础,按照科学性与导向性相结合、操作性和可比性相结合、动态分析与静态分析相结合、"硬"指标与"软"指标相结合、定性与定量相结合以及通用指标和分类指标相结合的原则和方法,完善共性指标体系,并分别制定考核教学型、管理型、经营型、科研型四类高校二级党组织的个性指标体系。通过建立分类考核指标体系,创新推动高校二级党组织落实党建工作责任。  相似文献

Institutionalization of health promotion interventions occurs when the organization makes changes to support the program as a component of its routine operations. To date there has not been a way to systematically measure institutionalization of health promotion interventions outside of healthcare settings. The purpose of the present study was to develop and evaluate the initial psychometric properties of an instrument to assess institutionalization (i.e., integration) of health activities into faith-based organizations (i.e., churches). This process was informed by previous institutionalization models led by a team of experts and a community-based advisory panel. We recruited African American church leaders (N = 91) to complete a 22-item instrument. An exploratory factor analysis revealed four factors: 1) Organizational Structures (e.g., existing health ministry, health team), 2) Organizational Processes (e.g., records on health activities; instituted health policy), 3) Organizational Resources (e.g., health promotion budget; space for health activities), and 4) Organizational Communication (e.g., health content in church bulletins, discussion of health within sermons) that explained 62.3 % of the variance. The measure, the Faith-Based Organization Health Integration Inventory (FBO-HII), had excellent internal consistency reliability (α = .89) including the subscales (α = .90, .82, .81, and .87). This measure has promising initial psychometric properties for assessing institutionalization of health promotion interventions in faith-based settings.  相似文献

Work on democratization typically considers the diffusion of democracy through interstate partnerships. However, such partnerships constitute complex networks that scholars have yet to fully explore as vectors for the spread of democracy. We develop a network theory of democratization which characterizes these networks as epistemic communities that influence elites’ attitudes towards favorable regime types. Our theory predicts, and our empirical strategy confirms, that direct and indirect ties in the alliance network are vectors for democratization. In contrast to conventional wisdom, we find that direct influence is only transmitted through the defensive alliance network and find evidence of higher-order effects.  相似文献

The roles of small congregations and their social impacts are well known, but few theoretical studies investigate megachurch congregations. These mammoth organizations have the potential for advancing social good, but minimal research specifically focuses on the activities of these congregations in economic development (ED). This study addresses this dearth of information by answering the following research questions: (a) In what ways are megachurches involved in ED activities? (b) Who benefits from these programs and how are the programs offered? and (c) What factors influence megachurches to offer ED activities? We frame our investigation using both demand‐ and supply‐side arguments from Frumkin's (2002) model of nonprofit and voluntary action. Online survey data and follow‐up interviews with 42 megachurch leaders in the Dallas/Fort Worth and greater Houston areas show that megachurches are implementing ED activities in alignment with demand‐side explanations, especially when advancing opportunities for the unemployed and underemployed. However, supply‐side arguments provide more explanatory power, indicating that volunteer engagement with ED activities plays a significant role in the provision of ED services through megachurches. Our study offers a better understanding of why megachurches carry out ED activities with considerable attention devoted to how megachurches partner with other congregations, nonprofits, and government entities to encourage economic growth and improve the economic well‐being of community members.  相似文献
