This paper demonstrates how the software package QSR‐NVivo can be used to faciitate a grounded theory approach. Recent research evidence has questioned the methodological quality of many studies that claim to utilise grounded theory. This paper argues that qualitative data analysis software can be used to encourage good quality grounded theory research by facilitating many of the key processes and characteristics associated with this approach. To achieve this, the paper identifies a number of grounded theory characteristics, common to all revisions of the methodology. It then describes the development of a recent study, which examined how people successfully maintain long‐term physical activity behaviour change. The purpose of this is to demonstrate how different functions of QSR‐NVivo may be used in conjunction with the key grounded theory characteristics. In summary, QSR‐NVivo is a powerful tool that, if used appropriately, can facilitate many aspects of the grounded theory process from the design and early sampling procedures, through to the analysis of data, theoretical development and presentation of findings.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Realist evaluation (RE) is a research design increasingly used in program evaluation, that aims to explore and understand the influence of context and underlying mechanisms on intervention or program outcomes. Several methodological challenges, however, are associated with this approach. This article summarizes RE key principles and examines some documented challenges and solutions when analyzing RE data, including the development of Context-Mechanism-Outcome configurations. An analytic method using NVivo features is also presented. This method makes it possible to respond to certain analytic difficulties associated with RE by facilitating the identification of patterns and ensuring transparency in the analytical process.  相似文献

情绪主题绘本是幼儿情绪教育的重要媒介,选择绘本是教育实施的重要前提。目前,幼儿情绪绘本的选择依据模糊笼 统,3-6岁幼儿在绘本市场往往被归为同类绘本阅读主体。为细化选择标准,利用NVivo11.0分析软件对50本幼儿情绪绘本的 文本内容进行编码。结果发现,绘本内容中的情绪理解事件最多,情绪调节次之,情绪表达较少,且内部要素间存在明显的年 龄差异。因此,绘本选择需从浅表的“适龄圈”向内在的“适读点”聚焦,根据不同年龄幼儿情绪能力维度的发展特点,接纳幼儿 负面情绪,合理利用人际支持,从幼儿阅读视角出发,科学选择绘本。  相似文献

This paper introduces the Tog coefficient, which can be used to measure the level of inequality in a cross-tabulation of two ordinal-level variables. The Gini coefficient is a standard measure of income inequality which has been adapted by other authors for use in different contexts such as the measurement of health inequalities and the quantification of occupational segregation; the Tog coefficient represents a further stage in this process of development. The paper outlines the construction of the Tog coefficient and illustrates this using a social mobility table based on data from the 1972 Oxford Mobility Study. The trend in social mobility-related inequality as measured by the Tog coefficient is compared with the findings of Goldthorpe et al. based on odds ratios. A more elaborate application of the Tog coefficient uses a variety of data relating to the similarity of spouses' class backgrounds to demonstrate the existence of a long-term decline in the level of inequality in British society.  相似文献

幼儿园体育游戏是幼儿园中幼儿进行身体活动的主要途径和实践方式,绘本可以起到丰富幼儿园教师开展体育游戏活动的作用。基于NVivo12.0质性分析软件,筛选50本体育运动主题绘本,结果发现,此类绘本围绕运动知识、运动技能、运动情感三大核心节点。将体育运动主题绘本融入幼儿园体育游戏,可以丰富幼儿的运动知识,提升幼儿的运动技能,吸引幼儿的运动兴趣。由此进一步提出幼儿园体育游戏应基于“适龄点、适读点、适用点”——扎根于幼儿发展、契合于幼儿兴趣、服务于幼儿教育的选择与应用运动主题绘本的建议。  相似文献
