The launch of the euro in 1999 was assumed to enhance macroeconomic convergence among EMU economies. We test this hypothesis from a comparative perspective, by calculating different indices to measure the degree of macroeconomic dispersion within the Eurozone, the UK and the USA (1999–2019). We use common factor models to produce a single index for each monetary area out of different measures of dispersion. These indices can be used to inform on the degree of optimality of a monetary area. Our results show that macroeconomic dispersion in the Eurozone increased notably even before 2007 and it took significantly longer to return to pre-crisis levels, as compared to the UK and the USA. The paper shows the critical role played by the ECB’s asset purchases programmes in reducing macroeconomic divergences among EMU member states since 2015.  相似文献

从经济水平、事业科创、社会文化、生活保障四个维度,结合县域经济的特点,构建县域人才环境竞争力评价指标体系,运用因子分析和聚类分析的方法评价与分析浙江省84个区县市。通过因子分析得出各区县市人才环境竞争力的综合排名与评价,发现浙江省各区县市人才环境竞争力呈现北强南弱、东强西弱的总体格局,各地市内区县市间也存在较大的差异性。通过聚类分析将竞争力形态较为相似的区县市归类并总体分为的四种类型。基于两种分析的结果,提出了若干建议:建设人才环境竞争力提升示范区、推进协作发展、实现优势互补、加强适时监测评价等,依托浙江省高质量发展建设共同富裕示范区的政策优势,促进地区人才环境竞争力共同提升。  相似文献

Variations in the economic recovery rate across the United States have led to even greater chasms that separate the employed, unemployed, and underemployed (DeSilver, 2017 ). Therefore, understanding and supporting the career development of future generations is critical—especially for those who live outside the context of social privilege. The authors examined the applicability of the integrative contextual model of career development (ICM; Lapan, 2004 ) to a sample of 220 adolescents (129 boys, 91 girls) from a high‐poverty urban area. Results indicated that a canonical variate comprising foundational ICM skills (e.g., career exploration, goal setting) predicted a variate composed of ICM outcomes (e.g., self‐efficacy, vocational identity), thus supporting the usefulness of the ICM framework for this population. The skill of setting viable career goals was an especially strong predictor of outcomes. Implications for career counseling with adolescents living in high‐poverty urban areas and directions for future research are discussed.  相似文献

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other sexual/gender minority (LGBTQ+) health care providers face both general work-related stresses and working in heteronormative settings with ill-informed or hostile coworkers and patients, yet there has been little study of whether the coping strategies are specific to LGBTQ+ stress. We analyzed qualitative data from 277 health care professionals. Sources of stress included religiously and politically conservative coworkers, coworker/patient lack of knowledge, stresses of being closeted, and concerns about being out to patients. Consequences of being out as LGBTQ+ included lack of promotions, gossip, refusals of tenure, and anti-LGBTQ+ comments and behaviors in the workplace. Respondents showed mostly positive coping strategies to deal with stress, including becoming educators/advocates and self-care activities. Self-care options were common in rural areas with few LGBTQ+ social resources. Negative coping strategies were reported by 18% of respondents. The study highlights the extra burden of stress on LGBTQ+ health care providers.  相似文献

本文在对国内外以社会性别视角进行的生态研究进行梳理的基础上,深入分析了历史上中缅边境北段怒江峡谷中以傈僳族为主体的少数民族妇女在地方民族社会发展进程中为当地生态平衡所做的重要贡献。同时,对在社会转型和边疆农业女性化的现实背景下傈僳族妇女在与生态环境互动的诸多细节进行了深入的调研分析,进而认为妇女与环境的关系必须要放在具体的经济和社会发展的语境中阐释,环境治理中应为少数民族妇女提供发挥能动性的平台,并强调社会性别分析对边疆生态环境治理的积极意义,以及少数民族妇女在边疆地区生态安全的建设过程中所发挥的独特而重要的作用。  相似文献

社会心理服务体系是马克思主义社会管理理论中国化的新成果。当前,我国政府和学者已从政策、理论和实践层面进行了多方位的探索,形成了丰富的学术与应用成果,但也出现了将社会心理服务体系“心理健康化”、“单一学科化”的窄化趋势。民族地区社会心理服务体系建设应认真梳理这些政策、理论与实践脉络,准确把握其科学内涵,合理构建其理论体系。具体来看,新时代民族地区社会心理服务体系依据我国的国情、各民族的传统文化和心理行为特点,综合运用心理学、民族学、预防医学、社会工作和公共管理的理论与策略有效解决社会心态改善、心理健康促进、公共危机管理、民族团结提升、社会共同体认同、民族文化传承和美好生活实现等社会治理问题,有效推进各民族的“交往、交流、交融”,真正实现各民族的“和睦相处、和衷共济、和谐发展”,为解决民族问题和创新民族团结进步事业提供中国特色的新方案。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Despite widening participation in social work education in the UK, social work students from black and minority ethnic (BME) backgrounds can find that they have less positive experiences on social work courses than their counterparts. This can happen when courses do not equip students to navigate the subtle rules of communication with service users that are premised on dominant UK values. As a consequence BME students can be assessed as having poor interpersonal skills and poor skills in engaging service users. However, the issue is often more one of cultural differences and high expectations of cultural integration than one of incompetence.

This paper reports on a drama workshop using techniques from the Theatre of the Oppressed to foster awareness of the complexities of cross cultural communication that BME students may face. The workshop facilitates insight into the nuances of culturally informed values that differ from dominant UK values.

Drawing on student workshop evaluations, the authors highlight the positive use of techniques from the Theatre of the Oppressed as a pro-active pedagogical approach to equipping BME students with insight and skill to circumnavigate cross cultural communication in practice and develop awareness of empowering strategies to combat negative paradigms about BME cultures.  相似文献

清代冕宁县作为多民族杂居的地区,雍正年间改土归流后,国家治理开始深入基层社会,为了适应当地民族社会管理的特别需要,当地形成了一种特殊的制度——夷兵换班制。“夷兵换班制”是通过招募当地“夷民”到流官衙署中充当“夷兵”,作为地方流官处理涉及少数民族内部事务的辅助人员,保证国家在处理当地少数民族民政、治安、司法等事务时有熟悉当地“夷俗”的衙吏。由于“夷兵”实行定期轮换,所以称为“夷兵换班制”。“夷兵换班制”的核心是“夷兵”,“夷兵”从职能上看,最初是作为地方治安保安人员,但在现实中往往成为流官和夷民之间在民政、治安、司法事务管理中的中介,具有沟通官方与民间信息、促进国家法与民族习惯融合与互动、弥补外来官吏地方民族事务管理能力不足等功能。总之,“夷兵换班制”是清代地方流官衙署在西南地区治理时针对特定地区设置的一种变通制度,这种制度对于国家在少数民族地区基层社会的治理发挥着十分重要的积极作用。  相似文献

突如其来的新冠肺炎疫情让我们继2003年非典之后再次与传染性疾病正面遭遇,也让我们反思当下的公共卫生体系,尤其是公共卫生服务相对薄弱却面临更大的境外输入风险的民族地区,需要如何提升才能应对此次疫情和日后可能出现的其他公共卫生突发事件的冲击。少数民族地区的经济发展状况、地处边境或边疆地区等独特的自然地理环境和社会景观、恶劣的气候和不方便的交通运输,给大流行防控带来了较大的压力,也在一定程度上影响了公共卫生服务的可及性。少数民族地区的公共卫生体系与其他地区相比仍然相对薄弱,城乡不平衡仍然存在。回顾1949年中华人民共和国成立以来公共卫生体系的发展历程,我们会发现,我们积累了预防为主的政策等宝贵经验,也走过了过度市场化的弯路。因此,总结经验,吸取教训,结合少数民族地区的实际,明确政府、社会和公民在公共卫生服务体系中各自的定位、作用和责任,坚持预防为主的原则,加强国际合作,都是完善少数民族地区公共卫生体系的重要内容。  相似文献

The tragic killing of George Floyd at the hands of the police resulted in hundreds of thousands of protestors marching in the streets demanding change. The call for change criticized the killing of Blacks by law enforcement and challenged White supremacy as an institution of social control and racial violence. A key component of the marches and protests was a message to the residents of the United States: “Black Lives Matter.” As society grapples with a reckoning, researchers studying police violence for the past 6 decades have been empirically and theoretically debating the reasons why use of force by law enforcement continues to have a higher proportion of Black and Brown victims compared to Whites. Although the research on fatal police killings was studied by only a small number of individuals prior to 2014, after the killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri the research in different areas of the country increased rapidly as did the forms of analysis and research disciplines making their own contributions. The Washington Post and Guardian news agencies established that deaths at the hands of the police were occurring for at least 900 to 1100 individual deaths per year for which firearms resulted in the greatest cause of death. As US government agencies failed to produce a national data source on police involved killings, the media took a leading role in providing greater national understanding. The authors examine what role academic researchers contribute to the discussion for solutions, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds. As protestors march, lawyers sue and defend, and politicians create new forms of legislation, researchers need to play a more important role initiating critical studies, making sense of the data, and providing a theoretical framework for which police violence can be understood. This article will provide an overview of the literature on racialized police violence, point out key patterns involving racial and ethnic disparities, and emphasize how researchers can play a more important role in advocating for change.  相似文献
