The authors examine several aspects of cross‐validation for Bayesian models. In particular, they propose a computational scheme which does not require a separate posterior sample for each training sample. 相似文献

Double arrays of n rows and p columns can be regarded as n drawings from some p-dimensional population. A sequence of such arrays is considered. Principal component analysis for each array forms sequences of sample principal components and eigenvalues. The continuity of these sequences, in the sense of convergence with probability one and convergence in probability, is investigated, that appears to be informative for pattern study and prediction of principal components. Various features of paths of sequences of population principal components are highlighted through an example. 相似文献

A new two-parameter distribution over the unit interval, called the Unit-Inverse Gaussian distribution, is introduced and studied in detail. The proposed distribution shares many properties with other known distributions on the unit interval, such as Beta, Johnson SB, Unit-Gamma, and Kumaraswamy distributions. Estimation of the parameters of the proposed distribution are obtained by transforming the data to the inverse Gaussian distribution. Unlike most distributions on the unit interval, the maximum likelihood or method of moments estimators of the parameters of the proposed distribution are expressed in simple closed forms which do not need iterative methods to compute. Application of the proposed distribution to a real data set shows better fit than many known two-parameter distributions on the unit interval. 相似文献

AbstractDesigns for the first order trigonometric regression model over an interval on the real line are considered for the situation where estimation of the slope of the response surface at various points in the factor space is of primary interest. Minimization of the variance of the estimated slope at a point maximized over all points in the region of interest is taken as the design criterion. Optimal designs under the minimax criterion are derived for the situation where the design region and the region of interest are identical and a symmetric “partial cycle”. Some comparisons of the minimax designs with the traditional D- and A-optimal designs are provided. Efficiencies of some exact designs under the minimax criterion are also investigated. 相似文献

Robust inference on the parameters in generalized linear models is performed using the weighted likelihood method. Two cases are considered: a case with replicated observations and a case with a single observation of the dependent variable for each combination of the explanatory variables. The first case is common in the design of experiments, while the second case arises in observational studies. Theoretical and computational results on real datasets are presented and compared with other existing techniques. 相似文献
