This paper proposes a sufficient bootstrap method, which uses only the unique observations in the resamples, to assess the individual bioequivalence under 2 × 4 randomized crossover design. The finite sample performance of the proposed method is illustrated by extensive Monte Carlo simulations as well as a real‐experimental data set, and the results are compared with those obtained by the traditional bootstrap technique. Our records reveal that the proposed method is a good competitor or even better than the classical percentile bootstrap confidence limits.  相似文献

Contemporary managers are developing alternative ways to sustain their competitive advantages. Motivation-enhancing features such as high-quality meal service provided by organizations can be thought of as one of these methods. The effect of the perceived quality of meal service provided by organizations on the job performance of employees and the mediating role of organizational identification during this process is studied. Private security-sector employees working in Turkey (N?=?597) are being focused in this study. As a result of analyses (correlation and regression analyses, structural equation model), the authors find that the perceived quality of meal service provided by organizations improves employees’ job performance significantly and organizational identification has a partial mediating role on this association. The findings of this study will be of interest to key stakeholders such as public or private organizations, labor unions and the media.  相似文献

Innovation is typically a trial‐and‐error process. While some research paths lead to the innovation sought, others result in dead ends. Because firms benefit from their competitors working in the wrong direction, they do not reveal their dead‐end findings. Time and resources are wasted on projects that other firms have already found to be fruitless. We offer a simple model with two firms and two research lines to study this prevalent problem. We characterize the equilibrium in a decentralized environment that necessarily entails significant efficiency losses due to wasteful dead‐end replication and an information externality that leads to an early abandonment of the risky project. We show that different types of firms follow different innovation strategies and create different kinds of welfare losses. In an extension of the core model, we also study a centralized mechanism whereby firms are incentivized to disclose their actions and share their private information in a timely manner. Traditional resampling methods for estimating sampling distributions sometimes fail, and alternative approaches are then needed. For example, if the classical central limit theorem does not hold and the naïve bootstrap fails, the m/n bootstrap, based on smaller-sized resamples, may be used as an alternative. An alternative to the naïve bootstrap, the sufficient bootstrap, which uses only the distinct observations in a bootstrap sample, is another recently proposed bootstrap approach that has been suggested to reduce the computational burden associated with bootstrapping. It works as long as naïve bootstrap does. However, if the naïve bootstrap fails, so will the sufficient bootstrap. In this paper, we propose combining the sufficient bootstrap with the m/n bootstrap in order to both regain consistent estimation of sampling distributions and to reduce the computational burden of the bootstrap. We obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for asymptotic normality of the proposed method, and propose new values for the resample size m. We compare the proposed method with the naïve bootstrap, the sufficient bootstrap, and the m/n bootstrap by simulation.  相似文献

Artificial intelligence procedures such as artificial neural networks (ANNs), genetic algorithms and particle swarm optimization and other procedures such as fuzzy clustering have been successfully used in the various stages of different fuzzy time-series forecasting approaches. Fuzzy clustering, genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization are generally used in the fuzzification stage, and this simplifies the applicability of this stage and makes the fuzzy time-series approach more systematic. ANNs have also been applied successfully in the fuzzy relationship determination stage. In this study, we propose a new hybrid fuzzy time-series approach in which fuzzy c-means clustering procedure is employed in the fuzzification stage and feed-forward neural networks are used in the fuzzy relationship determination stage. This study also includes an empirical analysis pertaining to the forecasting of Index 100 for the stocks and bonds exchange market of Istanbul.  相似文献

In this study, we propose sufficient time series bootstrap methods that achieve better results than conventional non-overlapping block bootstrap, but with less computing time and lower standard errors of estimation. Also, we propose using a new technique using ordered bootstrapped blocks, to better preserve the dependency structure of the original data. The performance of the proposed methods are compared in a simulation study for MA(2) and AR(2) processes and in an example. The results show that our methods are good competitors that often exhibit improved performance over the conventional block methods.  相似文献

Mahalanobis square distances (MSDs) based on robust estimators improves outlier detection performance in multivariate data. However, the unbiasedness of robust estimators are not guaranteed when the sample size is small and this reduces their performance in outlier detection. In this study, we propose a framework that uses MSDs with incorporated small sample correction factor (c) and show its impact on performance when the sample size is small. This is achieved by using two prototypes, minimum covariance determinant estimator and S-estimators with bi-weight and t-biweight functions. The results from simulations show that distribution of MSDs for non-extreme observations are more likely to fit to chi-square with p degrees of freedom and MSDs of the extreme observations fit to F distribution, when c is incorporated into the model. However, without c, the distributions deviate significantly from chi-square and F observed for the case with incorporated c. These results are even more prominent for S-estimators. We present seven distinct comparison methods with robust estimators and various cut-off values and test their outlier detection performance with simulated data. We also present an application of some of these methods to the real data.  相似文献

In this study, we propose using Jackknife-after-Bootstrap (JaB) method to detect influential observations in binary logistic regression model. Performance of the proposed method has been compared with the traditional method for standardized Pearson residuals, Cook's distance, change in the Pearson chi-square and change in the deviance statistics by both real world examples and simulation studies. The results reveal that under the various scenarios considered in this article, JaB performs better than the traditional method and is more robust to masking effect especially for Cook's distance.  相似文献

An endogenous growth model is developed where each period firms invest in researching and developing new ideas. An idea increases a firm's productivity. By how much depends on the technological propinquity between an idea and the firm's line of business. Ideas can be bought and sold on a market for patents. A firm can sell an idea that is not relevant to its business or buy one if it fails to innovate.
