可持续发展战略对国家技术思想的影响

20世纪人类社会在经济、社会、文化等各个方面都取得了巨大的进步 ,但是经济的发展却给资源、环境造成了严重的破坏。中国必须走可持续发展的道路。传统的国家技术指导思想导致了有增长无发展的现象十分普遍 ,它单纯的追求经济效益的提高而忽略了社会效益。经济的发展以资源、环境的破坏为代价。实施可持续发展战略 ,使传统的技术指导思想发生了重大改变 ,科技发展在一定程度上可以解决我们面临的资源和环境问题 ,促进经济、生态和社会实现可持续发展。     

“Arabic is Not my Language…”: Debates over Teaching of Arabic in Irish Muslim Schools

Based on ethnographic fieldwork that took place in 2014 in two Irish primary Muslim schools in the Republic of Ireland, this article draws from both observations of Arabic classes from fourth and fifth classes as well as semi-structured interviews with teachers and parents. The research findings explore the content of and approaches towards the teaching of Arabic and the views held by participants towards the learning of Arabic as part of Islamic religious education. The study reveals the diversity of views that exist and questions the importance of learning Arabic, as part of formal religious education for young Muslims living in non-Muslim pluralist societies. The author concludes with some implications from the study and offers some direction for Muslim schools as it relates to teaching Arabic and, more broadly, to Islamic religious education of young Muslims in Western contexts.

独立后吉尔吉斯斯坦俄语发展现状研究

俄语仍然是吉尔吉斯斯坦共和国的官方语言，在吉尔吉斯斯坦仍然保持着较高的使用率。俄语的社会价值导致了吉尔吉斯斯坦吉-俄双语现象的产生，双语制成为吉尔吉斯斯坦的一个主要特征和最重要的文化价值之一。吉国大部分居民有继续保持俄语现有的地位、使用吉-俄双语制的心理倾向，但是，俄语在吉尔吉斯斯坦的发展过程中仍然面临着民族、政治、文化诸方面的挑战。

本文以社会工作的专业视角来看待不孕女性面临的社会心理问题,主要从女性不孕问题现状、女性不孕问题造成的个人社会影响和社会工作针对这一问题的专业干预策略几个方面着手分析。     

充分发挥统计整体职能 为国民经济的持续稳定协调发展服务

一、统计整体功能在实践中不断发展在认识上逐步深化1989年8月,国务院批准的国家统计局《关于加强统计工作,充分发挥统计监督作用的报告》(以下简称国办39号文件)明确指出,要“深化统计体制改革,切实加强对统计工作的集中统一领导,进一步把统计部门建设成为社会经济信息的主体部门和国民经济核算的中心,成为国家重要的咨询和监督机构。”这是在总结和概括我国四十年特别是近十年来统计实践经验,并借鉴国际先进经验的基础上提出的。它既简洁明了地规定了统计部门的基本职能,明确了我国统计改革和统计现代化建设的方向,又比较充分地体现了统计工作在现代国家管理系统中的重要地位和作用。     

Birth Outcome Measures and Infant Mortality

Recent studies have proposed alternative birth outcome measures as means of assessing infant mortality risk; nevertheless, there hasn’t yet been an integrated analysis of these approaches. We review 14 strategies, including various combinations of birth weight, gestational age, fetal growth rate, and Apgar scores—as predictors of early neonatal, late neonatal, and postneonatal mortality, and infant mortality. Using the NCHS linked birth/infant death file for 2001, we construct multivariate logit models and assess the associations between each of the 14 key birth outcome measures and four mortality outcomes. We find that all evaluated birth outcome measures are strong predictors, but Apgar scores are the strongest among all models for all outcomes, independent of birth weight and gestational age. Apgar scores’ predictive power is stronger for Mexican-, white-, and female-infants than for black- and male-infants. Second, all birth outcome measures remain significantly associated with mortality, but their predictive power reduces drastically over time. These findings suggest a rule of thumb for predicting infant mortality odds: when available, Apgar scores should always be included along with birth weight (or LBW status) and gestational age. Additionally, these findings argue for the continued study of low birthweight, gestational age, and Apgar scores as independently salient health outcomes.

对信息不对称问题的重新思考

自阿克洛夫以来,经济理论界在研究信息不对称问题时,由于受传统刻画不确定性方法的束缚,没有认识到个人在做出决策时对其他参与者的类型集的主观估计的重要作用,因此缺乏对某些问题的现实解释力。对传统理论的假设做出合理的改变,才能拓展对信息不对称问题的研究途径,得出新的结论。     

On diagnostic checking of the autoregressive conditional intensity model

The autoregressive conditional intensity model proposed by Russell (1998) is a promising option for fitting multivariate high frequency irregularly spaced data. The authors acknowledge the validity of this model by showing the independence of its generalized residuals, a crucial assumption of the model formulation not readily recognized by researchers. The authors derive the large‐sample distribution of the autocorrelations of the generalized residual series and use it to construct a goodness‐of‐fit test for the model. Empirical results compare the performance of their test with other off‐the‐shelf tests such as the Ljung–Box test. They illustrate the use of their test with transaction records of the HSBC stock.
