论技术异化的二重性影响

技术是满足人不断增长的需要的手段和方法,属生产力范畴,是促进经济发展的第一生产力.然而,随着科学技术的发展,技术本身成为控制社会和人类的一种异己力量,这种现象叫技术异化.技术异化在现实生活中有很多表现方式,本文从技术的自然属性和社会属性来探讨技术异化的根源.     

从殖民和后殖民的角度看现代性问题

全球范围内殖民主义体系的崩溃，使现代性具有了多义性和混乱性。这证明了西方现代性本身存在着矛盾性和含混性，也说明了西方现代性的对立面——反殖民主义和现代性的效颦者——更加深了现代性本身的矛盾性和含混性，表现出对资本主义工业（或后工业）社会所设想的现代文明的质疑与抗议。     

Optimal designs for generalized linear models

Summary This paper solves some D-optimal design problems for certain Generalized Linear Models where the mean depends on two parameters and two explanatory variables. In all of the cases considered the support point of the optimal designs are found to be independent of the unknown parameters. While in some cases the optimal design measures are given by two points with equal weights, in others the support is given by three point with weights depending on the unknown parameters, hence the designs are locally optimal in general. Empirical results on the efficiency of the locally optimal designs are also given. Some of the designs found can also be used for planning D-optimal experiments for the normal linear model, where the mean must be positive. This research was carried out in part at University College, London as an M.Sc. project. Thanks are due to Prof. I. Ford (University of Glasgow) and Prof. A. 伦理视角下农业的二重特性及农作“时”观念的省思

农业是人类生存和发展的基础和支撑,也是人类最早开始的有计划、有组织从事的社会活动。一方面,与其他人类活动不同,农业需要与大自然打交道,农业生产是在自然场所中显示和展开,自然亲自参与了农业生产的始终。另一方面,从对人类发展的推动来看,农业是人们最早为着满足自身生存需要而从事的一种社会活动。既然农业是作为人类的一种社会活动而存在,它必然体现了人的各方面社会特征和价值。与人参与其他社会活动涉及伦理一样,农业不但具有一般伦理的特性,而且因为它同时涉及人与自然的关系,于是决定了其伦理关注与其他人类活动不同,不只是关注人与人之间的伦理关系,更主要的是关注人与自然之间的伦理关系。农业关注的对象不是人,乃是有生命特性的农作物,这些农作物或者动物具备生命的类特征,而且这些生命特征出于自然,具有自然属性,这一点也决定了人在生产农作物的时候需要遵循自然的规范原则,由此亦决定了农业伦理需要在规范伦理学的框架中加以考察和认知。同时,农业是为着人类生存的需要而产生的,人对农业的判断又显示出功利性,使农业呈现功利性伦理的特征。因而,农业伦理具备了伦理学理论的各个层面,甚至将一些看似矛盾的伦理学理论恰如其分地整合在一起。农业伦理不只是单方面属于哪一个伦理理论,而是融合了伦理学中典型的两个流派即功利主义和义务论。在这种融合中,农业显明出一方面以支撑人的生存为目的,另一方面需要适应自然的客观性特征,于是农业伦理也随之在这两个层面反映出其独具特色的差异性。农业伦理的二重性不只是学理上的一种考量和认定,而且是具体地显明在农业实践之中,农业耕作中的"时"观念就是农业二重特性的实践显现,使农业伦理成为与具体实践相结合的实践理性。     

‘Media Events’ reconsidered: from ritual theory to simulation and performativity

This paper re-examines the long-established notion of ‘media events’ by contrasting and critically appraising three distinct approaches to the question of media events. These are: ritual theory associated with Daniel Dayan and Elihu Katz, secondly, Jean Baudrillard’s approach rooted in his notions of simulation and ‘non-events’ and, finally, the more recent performative approaches to media and mediation. I take Sarah Kember and Joanna Zylinska’s reading of media events presented in Life After New Media (2012) as exemplary of the performative approach. An argument is made that the accounts of media events offered by performative approaches add very little, and, indeed, lack the critical insightfulness of the earlier approaches. Both ritual theory and Baudrillard’s thought are briefly reappraised and, against Nick Couldry, I try to show that these accounts are not characterised by binary and reductive thinking. The major misunderstandings concern the nature of the sacred and profane dualism and the further dualisms developed in Baudrillard’s thought, particularly the figures of implosion and reversibility. Finally, Baudrillard’s position on technology is addressed and the paper concludes with the suggestion that his account is not solely negative, since technological developments are not only at the mercy of ironic reversals they may also enable new rituals of disappearance.     

CEO duality and firm performance: The moderating roles of other executives and blockholding outside directors

This study examines how the effect of CEO duality on firm performance is affected by two internal governance forces – namely other executives in the top management team and blockholding outside directors. Results based on a longitudinal dataset from the U.S. computer industry were consistent with my hypotheses. Specifically, I found that the effect of CEO duality was negative when the CEO had dominant power relative to other executives and when the board had a blockholding outside director, but was nonsignificant otherwise. This study enriches our understanding of the effect of CEO duality, and helps reinforce the call for the nonduality structure as the default choice and put the burden of proof on those who wish to justify otherwise on special grounds.     

Extension of the pool-adjacent-violators algorithm

The pool-adjacent-violators algorithm (PAVA) is an efficient algorithm which converges in a finite number of steps. However, it has been applicable so far only in isotonic regression with the simple order. This report extends its applicability to other quadratic programming problems, including certain one-sided multivariate testing problems and concave regression problems.     

从二元论到二重性:布迪厄社会观理论研究

布迪厄反对将社会看作实体性的物质结构,以为这一结构能够被感知和触摸;也反对将社会看作是种种表象和意志,呈现于主体性的感悟中.进而言之,他反对在社会与个人、物质与精神、结构与行动等二元论范式中寻求社会所在.就此而言,布迪厄的社会观,是将社会看作是实践者及其文化所型构而成的有机生命体.这一特定的社会观,建基于他对"doxa"概念的阐释.场域与习性则构成了一种具体的二重性存在.由此,布迪厄展开了其唯物主义人类学的分析.     

关于波粒二象性的表述

本文指出了对微观体系波粒二象性的一些错误表述及其可能造成的结果，指出了在教学中应注意的问题。     

譜分析和滤波兼容的模拟系統

本文利用序列的双重性原理对移动傅立叶变换作了深入的研究.根据频率采样理论,将模拟系统的传递函数H(ω)分解为若干子系统之和,并画出其结构框图,这个系统可以用来测量模拟信号的移动离散谱,也可用作低通、带通或梳状滤波器.最后还给出实现该系统的具体方框图.
