论图式理论对语篇阅读理解的作用

摘    要:论述了图式理论的起源和基本概念。指出人们对阅读语篇的理解取决于头脑中已经存在的图式,包括:语言图式、内容图式和修辞图式。分析了语篇阅读理解失败的主要原因,强调要达到正确理解阅读语篇的目的,读者既要具备相关的图式,又能在需要的时候激活恰当的图式。因此,在外语教学中,既要丰富学生的各种图式知识,又要培养他们善于运用已掌握的图式的能力。

Abstract:Illustrates the origin and fundamental concepts of schema theory and points out that the comprehension of discourse reading depends upon the existing schemata stored in readers' mind, which include linguistic schemata, content schemata and rhetorical schemata. Through the analysis of the main reasons for failure in the reading comprehension of discourse, it emphasizes that readers are required not only to possess the relevant schemata but also to be able to activate them when necessary. Therefore, it is suggested that in foreign language teaching, teachers should endeavor both to enrich students' schemata and to inspire their abilities for activating relevant schemata in comprehension.
