Conflict and Decision between Two Dimensions of Literary Criticism

The conflict and dialogue between aesthetic dimension and social dimension is a key issue throughout the history of modern Chinese literary criticism.As spokesmen of modern aesthetic criticism,the Jing critics not simply defended aesthetic nature of criticism,but,more importantly,inspired criticism to establish its characteristic tendency and existed significance in the conflict and dialogue between aesthetic judgment and the social and political dimensions,and then to reflect on the balance and definition of literary criticism in between the dual dimensions,so as finally to contain and assimilate social ideology in a literary way.
