中西礼貌现象研究及跨文化语用失误

西方学者B&L的面子观真的具有普遍性吗 ?对B&L的“面子观”和Leech的“礼貌原则”进行探讨 ,再结合中国的礼貌现象进行对比研究后 ,可以发现西方理论并不适应于中国礼貌现象。因此 ,我们可以得出结论 :礼貌具有文化特性 ,也就是说在不同文化里评价礼貌的标准和认识礼貌的方式是不同的。在此基础上我们进一步对跨文化交际进行探讨 ,就会发现礼貌现象的文化特性必然会导致跨文化语用失误 ,如 :

A Study of Politeness in Chinese and English Culture and Cross-cultural Pragmatic Failure

Is the Face theory of B & L really universal? After contrasting Face Theory of B & L and Politeness Principle of Leech with politeness phenomena in modern Chinese, the author perceives that they are not applicable in Chinese culture. This paper concludes that politeness is universal in all languages but culture specific, and that the ways to judge it in different cultures are different. On this basis, the author tries to analyse it in intercultural communication and believes that the culture specific of politeness would inevitably cause cross cultural pragmatic failure.
