从鲁迅的弃医从文谈到恽铁樵的弃文从医--恽铁樵论

鲁迅的第一篇小说《怀旧》是经恽铁樵之手签发,并加批语盛赞其撰文功力。作为“慧眼伯乐”他曾培养过一批青年作者。恽铁樵是编、译、著皆能的全才。他所编的前期《小说月报》是一个纯正的文学公共园地,不能以“顽固堡垒”视之。他由于多种原因弃文从医,所幸他在医学上能放一异采,成为革新中医的先锋之一。从他的弃从中我们可以体悟出若干教训来。

A Convert to Medicine from Literature: A Comment of Yun Tieqiao

Yun Tieqiao is celebrated for his genius in compilation, translation and writing. He helped publish Lu Xun's first short story and made a comment of eulogy for its great achievement. With keen eyes on potential gift, he had acted as a patron to a group of younger authors. The previous Fiction Monthly edited by Yun was a public garden of belles-lettres instead of a "stubborn bastion". Later Yun was converted to medicine out of manifold reasons and brought himself up as an innovator of traditional Chinese medicine. We can learn something from his very conversion.
