原型范畴理论下的英语一词多义现象分析

摘    要:多义词习得不充分是我国英语学习者的通病,是词汇深度习得不足的突出表现。运用原型理论、隐喻、转喻等认知手段,以Hand为例分析了一词多义现象。多义词的不同词义构成了以基本词义为原型的词义范畴,各词义之间具有家族相似性。为了掌握多义词,学习者应充分发挥主观能动性,围绕原型,灵活构建多义词动态家谱。

Abstract:Insufficient learning of polysemic words is a universal problem among English learners of our country. Taking hand for example, the author analyzes polysemy with prototype catgory theory, cognitive means of metaphor and metonymy. The different meanings of a polysemic word forms a meaning category with the essential meaning as the prototype, these meanings show family resemblance. To grasp polysemic words English learners should bring one's initiative into full play to construct flexibly the dynamic family tree of polysemic words around prototype.
