Led by scientific thoughts, urban civilization provided space for the development of cultural modernity in China, and endowed daily life with aesthetic qualities. It promoted and urban civilization in the modernization of Chinese culture, and both of them enriched the humane intension of scientific thoughts so that scientific thoughts exerted influence over most people on the humane level. Therefore, scientific thoughts not only promoted the modernity of Chinese society, culture and cities, but also brought about a lot of unavoidable problems. The perspective of scientific thoughts can provide a new path for the study of cultural modernity and urban civilization in China.
