"诗言志"简论

“诗言志”观念的产生 ,其内在原因是 ,诗是与礼、乐、史三位一体地产生于华夏文明之初 ,而礼、乐、史的政治品质自然成为诗的文化使命。其外在原因是 ,由于诗的逐渐成熟 ,加之《周易》的思维方式以及时代、社会政治思想的影响 ,诗逐渐与礼、乐、史分离 ,同时也形成了一个以诗言志、以诗观志的文化语境 ,由此涵养了先秦时代以诗言说社会兴衰、政治明暗、风尚优劣、道德良莠的特点。

A Survey of "Clarifying Ideas Through Poetry"

The emergence of tradition of "clarifying ideas through poetry", essentially, contributes to the popularity of The Book of Rites, The Book of Music and Songs and The Book of History in the major form of poetry at the dawn of Chinese civilization, thereby gaining their political qualities as a cultural mission of poetry. Historically, poetry reached maturity and was influenced by the way of thinking in The Book of Changes, times and social political ideas. Under these external conditions, poetry as a form of writing gradually seperated from The Book of Rites, The Book of Music and Songs and The Book of History, forming its own cultural context characterized by "clarifying and observing ideas through poetry", thus conserving and preparing an even wider material scope for poetry in the pre Qin days to elucidate rise and fall of society, brightness and shadowness of politics, as well as the good and the bad in custom and ethics.
