| 摘 要： | 前工业时期,英国乡村工业的发展,奠定了英国的工业革命赖以发生的工业基础,而中小城镇的崛起就是其作用的突出表现。中小城镇在联系和沟通乡村经济生活和城市经济生活方面发挥了重要的作用。这也是英国乡村工业发达的北部和西部之所以成为工业革命＂摇篮＂的重要原因之一。
