浅论大学英语词汇教学的基本原则

目前 ,大学英语词汇教学中存在的主要问题是只注重单一的词汇解释。大学英语词汇教学应坚持一套综合互补的教学方法 ,一方面要依据结构语言学 ,立足词汇的联系性和系统性 ,重视词汇的层次性 ;另一方面还要运用功能语言学理论 ,即把词义用法和语境与整个社会文化联系起来 ,这种综合互补的教学方法应用于教学 ,使大学英语的词汇教学真正做到融会贯通 ,词汇运用准确全面。

On the Fundamentals of English Vocabulary Teaching in College English Education

College English vocabulary teaching is now confronted with a tough problem, i.e., attention is only paid to the explanation of the meanings of English words. This paper argues for the necessity of forming a comprehensive approach of English vocabulary teaching. On the one hand, English teachers should attach great importance to the attributions of the connection and arrangement systems of English words on the basis of structural linguistics; on the other hand, in line with functional linguistics, they should be aware of the relations between the connotations of words and the related social and cultural contexts in their teaching process. Only in this way, can they achieve the desirable effects of English vocabulary teaching in college English education.
