The Influence of Li Shangyin's Peoms on the Dream of the Red Chamber

The Dream of the Red Chamber,a greatest novel in Qing Dynasty,was deeply influenced by the Chinese literary tradition especially by the poetry of Tang Dynasty,which has been pointed out by some scholars.However,the influence of Li Shangyin,one of the greatest poets in Tang Dynasty,has not been yet regarded as an important issue.In fact,the poems by Li Shangyin influenced deeply on the Dream of the Red Chamber in many aspects,including its tragedy mode,its poetic style,its usage of parables and morals,its sad figures and story surroundings,and even its book name "Dream of the Read Chamber" and its another name "Story of the Stone".Making surely a series of comparative studies on them,we know clearly the conjunction of the two famous literary phenomena in Chinese literary history.
