The Research on the Feature of Construction Contract Bonding System with an International View

It's an international custom to require surety bonds or guarantees in construction market. However, the practices in different countries vary considerably and can hardly be followed as a unified system model. Based on a lot of interviews with surety bonds experts worldwide and an investigation into the surety bonding system in the US, the author provides a five dimension framework , by which one can understand the surety bonding system in any country or area thoroughly and precisely. The five dimensions are the source of the demands for the bonds/guarantees, the types of bonds/guarantees, the major underwriters in the market, the penalty levels, and most used surety bonds products. With this five dimension tool, the author also gives an analysis on the features and trends of the international surety bonding/guarantee system.
