| 摘 要： | 本文探讨英语动词现在时部分表示"非现在"的用法,揭示出该语言现象背后隐藏的时空隐喻.作者认为,在时间的认知过程中,人类的概念化思维发生了隐喻联想,喻体"空间"内部结构模式被投射到"本体"时间上,空间域"前后""近和远"的方位差异在时间上表现为"现在与非现在"的对立,从而合理解释了英语动词现在时形式表示过去和将来语义的矛盾.

| Abstract: | This paper investigates "non-present" uses of the present tense of English verbs and discloses the spatial temporal conceptual metaphor beneath such a linguistic phenomenon. The author believes, in the cognition of time, a metaphorical imagination takes place in human conceptualized mind. The internal structure of the source domain "space" is projected as a whole onto the target domain "time", so difference in the space domain between the "front and back" and "nearness and remoteness"turns into the difference between "present and non-present" in time. Thus the contradiction between the verb forms of present tense to denote the meaning of past and future is therefore effectively resolved. |
