《红楼梦》空间结构探析

古典小说的结构偏重于时间的相续性 ,现代小说的结构则侧重于空间的广延性。《红楼梦》是古典小说 ,但在空间结构上却表现出现代小说的风范。宁荣两府处处声色货利人欲横流 ,可称之为“欲场”。大观园却不乏清纯本真相悦相爱 ,乃是一个“情场”,但是它处于“欲场”的包围和侵袭之中。不愿堕入“欲场”之中 ,惟一的选择就是逃往虚无 ,这是《红楼梦》叙事的宏观形态。大观园内部的空间差异 ,则呈现出人格象征的微观叙事形态

Analysis of the Space Structure in Dream of Red Chamber

The structure of classical novels lays emphasis on the continuity of time. However, modern novels emphasize the extension of the space. Dream of Red Chamber is a classical novel, but it shows some features of modern novels in space structure. “The two families of Rongs and Nings are filled with music and beauty and material interest and they are also indulged in human desire and passion”, so Rongs and Nings can be named “a lust field”. But in Grand Garden, there is pure love, which is a “love field”. It is, however, surrounded and attacked by the lust field. The only choice for the person who is unwilling to fall into the lust field is to escape from the reality, and this is the macro form of Dream of Red Chamber′s narration. The space difference in the Grand Garden shows the micro narration form of personal symbol.
