"中元区"的构建:现实可行性及前景展望

所谓"中元区",是指以"中元"为单一货币的货币运作区域或范围。构筑"中元区",推动中国大陆、香港、澳门、台湾的货币一体化,有利于稳定两岸四地的金融市场,减少两岸四地的交易成本,增强国际竞争力,增强民族凝聚力,方便两岸四地民众的往来。从建立统一货币区的经济和非经济因素来看,目前两岸四地建立"中元区"有一定的基础,但还不具备充分的条件。因此,只能分阶段分层次地进行货币合作,最终建立统一的货币区。

Constructing a "Chinese Yuan Area": Feasibility and Perspective

"Chinese Yuan Area" refers to an area or scope in which the Chinese yuan is the only currency. It is argued that constructing such an area and promoting regional monetary integration in the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao (CMTHM) will help to stabilize the banking and financial markets, reduce the cost of transactions in CMTHM, enhance our competitiveness and national cohesion, and facilitate exchanges in CMTHM. From the economic and non-economic factors for establishing such a common currency zone, CMTHM has some foundation but lacks sufficient conditions. It is therefore necessary to carry out gradual monetary co-operations at different levels until a common currency zone is finally established.
