《大学》原貌与“格物”本义考

摘    要:《大学》由于错简的缘故,使“格物”的本义没有着落,这是学术史上的一段公案。为了探讨“格物”的本义,可以从汉唐原本出发,考察《大学》文本的变化情况。曾子后学在整理《大学》文本时制造了第一次错简,宋儒在重新整理时制造了第二次错简。两次变动使“格物”的传文混入其他文段之中,宋儒视为“阙简”,以己意补之,这是“格物”说不见天日的主要原因。在复原了《大学》的原貌之后,“致知在格物”的传文自然浮现,其实就是孔子论讼一段文字,其中隐含了“格物”的本义,即尽物之性。通观《大学》全文,“格物致知”的要领在于守静。
