On Mental Health Education as an Important Component of Ideological and Political Education

Improper orientation of mental health education has long been one of the important reasons for the poor effect of ideological and political education. This paper, through an analysis of the relationship between mental health education and ideological and political education, argues that ideological and political education at present should involve four aspects, namely, ideological education, political education, moral education and mental education, of which mental education is the cornerstone, for mental health education is the essential as well as the most profound form of education. Therefore, mental health education is an important component of ideological and political education.
