开平碉楼不仅仅是中国碉楼一个非常独特的类型,更是近代中外文化在中国传统乡村交流的历史见证,表现出这种交流的广泛性、深刻性以及民众的主动性和创新能力,因而具有重要的独特的历史文化价值。本文通过开平碉楼审视了近代五邑侨乡中外文化交流的方方面面,分析了交流的机制,并初步评介了它在近代中外文化交流中的历史地位。
