| 摘 要： | 由容闳奠基的中国留学教育大致只有一个半世纪多一点儿的历史。期间涌现出清末、“五四”前后、20世纪80 年代三次留学潮,出国的留学生达百万以上,形成了一支学贯中西的新型知识群体,直接影响了中国的现代化进程。中国政治、经济、教育、国防、思想文化以及文学艺术等领域的现代化进程,留学生贡献良多。留学生与中国现代化呈现一种相互促进的良性互动关系。

| Abstract: | China's education of going abroad for study, based by Rong Hong lasted one century and a half, in which there appeared three waves of studying abroad:the late Qing dynasty, before or after "May 4" in 1919 and in the 1980s. The number of students abroad is more than one million and they have influenced China's process of modernization in such fields as politics, economy, education, national defense, ideology, culture, literature and art. Students studying abroad and China's modernization have formed a relationship of interaction. |
