| Abstract: | There exists tension between the narrator and the author's reader. This article conducts an analysis of Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms through the application of some relative theory of narratology, thus discovering a new Catherine, an escapist who attempts to escape herself by playing the role of a sincere lover. |
