中外企业简介的文本对比与外宣英译:以专用语料库为路径

摘    要:借助Antconc语料库检索软件及人工统计的方法,通过自建两个小型专用语料库,选取世界500强中10家中外企业的简介文本进行对比分析。研究发现,外国企业简介和中国企业简介呈现明显不同的词汇特征、句子特征和语篇特征。针对此,文章提出了英译中国企业简介的若干实用策略,即增加第一人称;删减冗余信息;改变语态和主语,突出重点内容。研究结果对中国企业在走向全球化过程中如何更好地解读自己、诠释自己、宣传自己具有重要的借鉴价值。

Abstract:This paper selects 10 Chinese and foreign company profiles from the 2016 Fortune Global 500 as research materials and makes two professional small-sized corpus. Based on this corpus and through man-made data processing, the paper makes a comparative study between Chinese and foreign company profiles. It finds that obvious differences exist between Chinese and foreign company profiles in the following three aspects: words, sentences and texts. Based on these findings, the paper puts forward some feasible strategies on how to translate Chinese company profiles in order to conform to the target readers’ cognitive needs, namely, adding the first person, deleting the redundant information and changing the mood and subject if necessary. These findings contribute greatly to the drive of Chinese companies going global
