深层语义、表层语义与大学英语阅读教学

摘    要:乔姆斯基认为语言有深层意义和表层意义,同一种深层意义可以用不同的表层意义表述。大学英语四级考试的阅读题中,该理论得到了充分的体现,即在短文中,反复出现了多个表层意义的同义词,表述同一深层意义;在提问中,大多出现通过全文的表层意义推测其深层意义。这给我们教师在阅读教学中以特别大的启示。

Abstract:Chomsky holds a language has both deep and surface semantic structures,and that the same deep semanticness can be expressed by various surface semanticnesses.The writer thinks this theory has widely been put into practice in English reading test for Band 4,that is,some synonyms with different surface semanticnesses express the same deep semanticness in the same passage and that in questions,the students are required to infer the deep semanticness from the surface semanticness.This enlights us on our English teaching.
