| Abstract: | Metaphor,as a basic cognitive method of human beings,is frequently employed by politicians in their political speeches for its unique characteristics.Comparing the political metaphors in two American presidents’ inaugural addresses,this paper probes into the role and significance of metaphorical subjectivity in emotional expression,and the angle and cognitive ways of expression.It hopes that it can help to better understand the essence of metaphor. |
