语域理论在文本分析中的运用——以分析《红楼梦》语言特色为例

Halliday的语域理论模式认为语域是语言的功能变体,语域理论模式的三要素是语场、语旨、语式。在《红楼梦》这部作品中,从语场角度出发,写的是贾宝玉和林黛玉、薛宝钗之间的爱情婚姻悲剧。这是它的基本话题,而它的大环境是一个封建大家庭逐渐走向哀亡,在这个基本语题和大环境下又衍生出相关分话题及小环境;从语旨角度出发,语旨支配语篇的人际功能,表达了作品中人物的身份、地位、态度、动机等;从语式角度出发,主要体现在儿化音的运用、音系的韵律特征以及修辞格的运用等方面。

Halliday＇s Register theory considers that register is the functional variety of language.It includes three aspects： field,mode and tenor.From the perspective of field,A Dream of Red Mansions is about the love tragedy between Jia Baoyu,Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai（the basic topic） which happened in a big feudal family going to the decline（the large social environment）.There appear some related subtopics and small environments.From the perspective of mode,A Dream of Red Mansions shows that mode controls the interpersonal function of text which may convey the characters＇ identity,social status,attitudes and intentions.From the perspective of tenor,retroflexion,rhyme scheme of poems and some rhetoric methods are used widely in A Dream of Red Mansions.
