A Comparative Study on the Conditions of Recruiting University Counselors between China and America

The Chinese Ministry of Education issued "the Stipulation of Developing Counselors of Common Universities",which was valid from September 1st and marked that the development of the university counselors system had passed into a new phase.Like the Chinese saying "By other 's faults,wise men correct their own",the American university counselors system developed more than that of Chinese universities,from which we could learn more.Comparing 14 Chinese universities and 14 America universities,we discover that in China,applicants should be the members of the Chinese Communist Party;meanwhile,the diploma and the management experience are important,and there still are the limitations for the applicants' living region,gender and age.On the other hand,American universities pay more attention to the applicants' capability,professional experience and knowledge of learning in a specialized field,which shows to be more equal and open.All of the above will greatly enlighten Chinese universities.
