Escape But Do Not Leave:Michele de Certeau's Resistance Theory

French thinker Michel de Certeau insists that the dominant institution is an illusion of power, and the others that exist in the institutions are not absolutely silenced and dominated. The others exist in the marginal fields of institutions and subject to these institutions in order to survive their heterogeneity that emerges everywhere. Michel de Certeau claims this situation always appears in the everyday life--the ordinary mass often resist the dominant institutions with some kind of tactical practices--"escape but do not leave. " This attitude gives prominence to his ethical epistemology, which opens the possibility for de Certeau' s unique thoughts and produces great impact on present culture studies.
