荀子的天人观与人类中心论无涉

生态伦理学意义上的各种形式的人类中心主义有两个共同点,一是自觉不自觉地将人与自然的关系对立起来,往往忽视人类维护自然的义务;二是否认将人类伦理道德扩展到自然界的必要性。而荀子常自觉地将“天”(自然)人合一,并要求人们在“制(顺)天命而用之”的同时,应维护自然生态平衡和保护人类生存环境。更为重要的是,他主张把人类伦理关怀视野从人际之间扩展到人与自然之间,将“礼”事于天地。从二者之间的区别得出结论:荀子的天人论与人类中心论无涉。

The ancient Chinese philosopher Xunzi s viewpoint of nature and man is no anthropocentrism

All forms of anthropocentrism have two common points. On the one hand, they consciously or unconsciously think that the relationship between nature and man is opposite, so they often neglect the man's duty of protecting nature. On the other hand, they think it is not necessary to expand man's ethics to nature. However, Xunzi often conscientiously thought that nature and man are in perfect harmony, so he demanded that people should protect nature when they took advantage of it. What is more, he advocated that man's ethics should be expanded to nature. From the above discussion, we can conclude that Xunzi's viewpoint of nature and man harmony is no anthropocentrism.
