| Abstract: | The use of twelve animals representing the years in which people are born is a typical cultural phenomenon with rich connotations as well as a long history. Twelve animals are used to represent the twelve Earthly Branches, and the year in which one is born is represented by one of the twelve animals. The totem worship in the remote antiquity is the beginning of the use of twelve animals. And the appearance of the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches and the unity of multi-elements are the foundation of this phenomenon. |
