| 摘 要： | 隐喻、转喻作为人类基本的认知方式，对于英语阅读有着重要的驱动作用，表现在促进词汇识解，在篇章层面上能帮助读者自上而下地迅速把握文章中心，并进行正确的预测推理。相关的教学实验证实了隐喻、转喻对阅读理解的驱动作用。

| Abstract: | As two basic cognitive styles,metaphor and metonymy can effectively push people to comprehend English reading materials.They can promote learners'vocabulary acquisition,help readers rapidly grasp main ideas in a top-down way and enable readers to make reasonable predictions and inferences.A related experiment is done to confirm their positive effects on reading comprehension. |
