Status of the Studies on Household Registration System Reform and the Progress

Along with deepening market\|oriented economic reform, disadvantages of the current household registration system becomes evident, and has drawn wide attention to by scholars and government departments concerned. Many studies have been made on the origin of household registration system and approaches to its reform. Practical departments have made partial adjustment or improvement on the system. This article has made an over\|all conclusion on theoretical studies and practical progress of the system.
