Archaeological Heritages in the City Center：the Practice of Protection and Display of the Nanyue Kingdom Relics in Guangzhou

Archaeological findings are important components of the human cultural heritages. As to a city, the archaeological discoveries serve as memories of the city＇s development and embodiment of its cultural connotation. The relics of Nanyue Kingdom, consist of the site of Nanyue Palace, the tomb of a Nanyue King and the site of a wooden watergate, are not only the essence of the historic and cultural famous city, but also important archaeological heritages of Guangzhou. The relics of Nanyue Kingdom were unearthed during the process of urban construction, and have been protected and displayed at their original site after excavation. By this way, they became not only the demonstration of history, but also the cultural coordinates of the city.
